1 MASTER SOCIAL WORK WITH SOCIAL-SIGNIFICANT DISEASES The Department of Social-medical Sciences is responsible for organization of the education in Social work. The aim of education in Social activities is to provide theoretical and practical basis for integration of medical, psychological, educational, sociological, juridical knowledge and skills. The Master degree program has been accredited by National Agency for evaluation and accreditation with a highest for the period of 6 years (protocol 16 from ). The tuition in the Master degree program is aimed to prepare well-trained specialists for Psycho-health Services through extending scientific-theoretical and specialized preparation in professional direction Social Work. The education assures theoretical and practical preparation in the field of Social Work and the specific problems of persons, groups and communities in realizing Social work. The basic purpose in this education is to hold out knowledge and abilities for work with people with grave mental disease and their families through therapeutically approach for learning lost social skills and abilities for independent life. The Master of Social work has to be able to: To serve as resource pool of teaching, research and training for governmental, non-governmental and international stakeholders in the field; To meet the growing demand of internal and external stakeholders for skilled and professional manpower; To broaden the research horizon of instructors, students and visiting scholars; To meet the growing demand for analysts, researchers, policy advisors, liaison officers; To open an avenue of choice for prospective students who have already articulated their demands; and, To lay a firm foundation for Master degree program in the field of Social work. The graduate can also work as researchers, tutors, organizers, manager or specialists in the system of social care, health, judicial or police systems can defend a doctorate in the field of social care. The Master of Social work is prepared to work as: -promoter, instructor or specialist in every social structure; -promoter, instructor or specialist in every services, in which there is regulated position, demanding realization of Social Worker - Health, Judicial, Psycho-social Services, Day Centers, Supporting Houses, etc. - tutor, research worker etc.

Students will be received primarily information for material base, regions, management and organization of Social work in Bulgaria. Teaching methods are lectures, multimedia, papers, cases. DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSTICS OF SOCIAL WORK ECTS credits: 4.0 Hours weekly: l+0s+0lab+0p Faculty of public health and sport Lecturers: assoc. prof.. P.Parizov Students will be thought in definition, essence and types of differential diagnostic of social work with children, adults and people with disabilities individual and group work, strategies, skills and interaction in social work. 9 REPRODUCTIVE BEHAVIOR AND DEMOGRAPHIC POLICY ECTS credits:.0 Lecturers: assoc. prof. St. Chincheva, MD, PhD In the course students are thought in demographic processes, factors, and trends in demographic development in Bulgaria. The emphasis is on sexual and reproductive health in different ages and people with disorders, the influence of different factors and the demographic policy. PUBLIC RELATIONS ECTS credits:.0 Lecturers: assoc. prof. D.Stefanova The course Public Relations help students to acquire new skills, which are needed for the contemporary challenges of the society. The students are thought in the connection and interaction between the different social and health institutions.
