1 NOOSR.01 Commonwealth of Australia National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition Migration Act 1958 Migration Regulations For the purposes of regulation 2.26B of the Migration Regulations, a body specified in column 2 of an item of the Schedule is APPROVED to make skills assessments as the relevant assessing authority for those occupations specified in column 3 of the same item. Such skills assessments are to be conducted, wherever appropriate, in accordance with the Guiding Principles for the Assessment of Overseas Skills and Qualifications, published by the Commonwealth of Australia in Dated Acting Assistant Secretary National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition [Note (1). A body that is approved by the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition to undertake skills assessments is, if also Gazetted as a relevant assessing authority by the Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, for the purposes of the Migration Regulations a relevant assessing authority within the meaning of the definition of that term contained in regulation 2.26B of the Migration Regulations. Note (2). This instrument comes into effect when signed by the Assistant Secretary, National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition, Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs.]
