8 Suggestions Maintain integrity and academic rigor of the nursing program Complete an evaluation of admission, progression and graduation policies Begin NCLEX preparation in the beginning semesters of the nursing program Complete test analysis after each test Student faculty

9 Suggestions Develop advising polices for early recognition and intervention for at risk students Develop NCLEX style test questions for unit testing, application level or higher Develop program testing policies consistent with NCLEX testing, all faculty adhering to the same policy Develop all unit tests using a test blueprint modeled after the NCLEX Detailed Test Plan Ensure proficiency in English for students who have English as a second language

10 Suggestions Complete an internal curriculum evaluation Complete curriculum mapping to the NCSBN Detailed Test Plan Participate in faculty development regarding teaching and learning methodologies as well as area of specialty in clinical nursing

11 Suggestions Develop faculty orientation and mentoring programs Develop and maintain an environment of trust and respect between faculty and students. Teamwork between all faculty. Full time faculty and adjunct faculty working collaboratively

12 Suggestions Use standardized test with a faculty established benchmark to assess student mastery of content throughout the nursing program: not just at the end of the program to determine graduation status Use standardized testing data as a part of the program curriculum review process
