16 $ 1, BU 2121C Capturing Systems Requirements This course prepares the student to properly identify, define and confirm the customer's true requirements when they are needed prior to the design and development of the system. The key to every project's success, accurately captured requirements are not only essential for meeting stakeholders' expectations, but also to avoid costly delays, added cost for rework, and poor customer relations. NA BU 2133C Systems Testing and Quality Assurance It should be a goal of every system development project to deliver a system free of defects, on time and in a cost effective manner. This course is designed to give students the practical skills and the specific techniques to build the zero defect concept into their methods of building and maintaining systems. The primary emphasis of the workshop is to avoid errors rather than do rework to correct them. Our approach is straightforward. We believe there is a direct and demonstrable relationship between the quality of the requirements analysis, the quality of the test plans that result, and the quality of the operational system. Here are some of the benefits your organization will receive: slashed time and cost of re work and systems maintenance, systems built more quickly, increased user confidence in system quality, and reduced or eliminated errors in operational systems. Most labs are organized as scenarios in which a security breach of existing software is possible students begin by hacking the system in some way. Then the work of the lab is to tighten up the software to eliminate the threat: set a secure policy, sign a file, clean up overexposed parts of an API, require user login, etc. Solid Java programming experience is assumed. Some knowledge of Java EE architecture and development is also recommended. This advanced course introduces Java developers to key technology for developing secure Web services. Specifically, we focus on XML signature and encryption standards, the WS Security specification and token profiles, and the Security Assertions Markup Language (SAML). Students practice signing and encrypting XML message content, and configuring J2EE tools to support signature and encryption of SOAP messages under the Java API for XML Based RPC (JAX RPC). CY 6050C Securing Java Web Services The course emphasizes hands on exercise, and students will spend roughly half of their classroom time solving specific security problems. Some early labs on XML signature and encryption work to local files; but the bulk of the work is with running JAX RPC web services: adding WS Security headers, signing and encrypting message content, and passing SAML assertions among various parties to a messaging scenario. Solid Java programming experience is essential. Experience developing Java Web services is assumed either via SAAJ or JAX RPC. Students are expected to be able to read and write XML fluently, and have some familiarity with XML Schema. $ 4, This program provides candidates with the skills, knowledge and credentials required to successfully begin a career in the fields of Information Technology and Cybersecurity.
