Check the TCCD web site for Online Readiness Assessment Nursing Course Registration Additional Information Students enrolling in all Nursing courses, with the exception of Foundations, Nursing Skills, Mental Health, and returning students, will participate in self registration. Dates and Deadlines Nursing Courses begin registration November 15, 6 a.m. according to the TCCD priority registration schedule. Nursing course registration ends November 30, midnight. After that, enrolling in nursing courses will be done by the nursing department. Registration for other TCC courses ends 1 week before classes start. Registration for returning/transfer students: Students returning/retaking a course will be contacted by the assistant directors, Mary Wiehardt, RN or Debbie Price, RN no later than January 6, Registration for returning students will be through the Nursing Department based on available space. ATTENTION: If you have withdrawn from the Nursing Program for any reason, or failed a Nursing Course and are returning in Spring 2016, you may not register until placed in a course. A urine drug test and a background check is required of all students after any break (1+ long semester) in enrollment in the nursing program. Please contact the nursing office for further information.

2 Note Do not register for more than one theory and one clinical section per course. If you register for more than one section, nursing administration will randomly drop one of the sections (the section dropped may not be your preference). Nursing Administration reserves the right to re-assign clinical placements based on administrative needs. Faculty assignments are subject to change based on administrative needs. Theory and clinical sections have been linked together so that students are able to register for a clinical and a theory section that do not conflict. You must register for both theory and clinical. RNSG 1293, Special Topics B, will be needed for the last semester if you were admitted to the nursing program spring 2014 or earlier. (You would have taken Special Topics A in your second semester). If this applies to you, be sure to register for Special Topics B. If you are unsure, contact Mary Wiehardt, Assistant Director. If you need it and don t have it you will not be able to graduate! Class meeting dates/times for RNSG 1293 from 8 a.m. 5 p.m. on 3 Wednesdays, Dates TBA. Additional time will be spent in simulation - TBA. The total class hours are 32 hours/semester. Online All students who register for the online/hybrid/blended theory courses will need to report to campus for exams date/times TBA Students who have never taken an online course or have taken one and not passed with a grade of C, must successfully complete the Smarter Measure Assessment before they are able to register for online courses Students who have not been successful in a nursing face to face or online course are discouraged from taking an online nursing course. Since online course are linked to clinical sections, please contact an Assistant Director if you are concerned about taking on online section. Documentation Documentation of current CPR (must be American Heart Association Health Care Provider), TB screening, and proof of health insurance must be on file in Immunitrax by the first clinical day. It is the students responsibility to take care of this prior to the first clinical day. You cannot attend clinical without these being current. They must be current through the last day of the Spring 2016 semester A seasonal flu immunization is required for Fall 2015 (receiving this immunization occurs after fall 15 start) and Spring 2016 academic year to attend clinical. Waivers must be signed by your health care provider if you do not have a flu shot. The facility will need a copy of the waiver too. You will also have to follow hospital protocol if you do not have a flu shot while in clinical.
