Aside from the All Massachusetts Community College series, numbers pertain to students who attended one of the four Western Massachusetts community colleges: Berkshire, Greenfield, Holyoke and field Technical Community Colleges. Excludes students who applied to programs administered by Continuing and Professional Education (e.g. University Without Walls). There is a series of graphs for all Massachusetts community colleges, a series for the four Western Massachusetts institutions combined, and a series for each individual Western Massachusetts institution. Tables 1 & 2. Applications, Acceptances and Enrollment by Sending Institution. Number of students who applied, accepted and enrolled through the transfer admission process from each MA community college. Figure 1. Applications, Acceptances and Enrollment. Shows the number of students who applied, accepted and enrolled through the transfer admission process from fall 2009 through spring Figure 2. Entering Students by School/College of Major. Shows the number of transfer students who enrolled according to the school or college of their major. HFA College of Humanities and Fine Arts CNS College of Natural Sciences SBS College of Social and Behavioral Sciences ENG College of Engineering MGT Isenberg School of Management PUB School of Public Health and Health Sciences OTH Other programs (typically undeclared) % STEM: Percentage of students who entered with Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics majors %CHC: The percentage of students who entered into the Commonwealth Honors College Figure 3. Enrollment of Entering Transfers by Gender and Full Time Status. Shows the number of students who entered in the fall or spring semester. Full time student enrolled for 12 or more credits. Figure 4. Distribution of Entering Transfers by Race/Ethnicity. Shows the proportion of students in each racial/ethnic category. The percentages are based on the number of U.S. citizens (or immigrants) who report race/ethnicity. Excludes students who do not report race/ethnicity. Self report of race/ethnicity is voluntary. Underrepresented minority includes American Indian/Alaska Native, Black/African American, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic Latino, and those who declared multiple race/ethnicities (except Asian and White). Figure 5. Entering Transfers by Admissions Type and Level. Shows the number of students who entered as part of a Joint Admission/MassTransfer articulation agreement and those who entered through the normal transfer admission process. Also shows the number of students who entered as upper division (57 or more credits) and those who entered as lower division (fewer than 57 credits). Figure 6. Entering and First Year GPA of Full time MassTransfer Students. Shows the GPA earned at the sending community college and GPA at the end of the first year. Numbers reported for students who entered as part of the Joint Admissions/MassTransfer program. Figure 7. One Year Retention of Full time MassTransfer Students. Shows the percentage of students who returned or graduated after the first year. Students who withdrew are assigned to one of two categories those withdrawing with a cumulative grade point average of greater than or equal to 2.0 (the GPA required to be in good academic standing), or less than 2.0. Data are reported for Joint Admissions/MassTransfer students only. Number of students in each entering cohort (No. Entering) is also shown. Figure 8.
