1 Assessment Plan Mission Statement: Mission Statement Developed 9/12/02; Revised 11/21/06; Revised 7/19/2007; Revised 9/4/2009; Revised 9/13/2010; Updated 10/23/13; Updated 11/7/2014 The Counselor Education program at Henderson is committed to offering studies in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, leading to the personal growth of students and ultimately benefiting the diverse client groups they serve. The primary mission of the program is to select highly qualified and motivated students and prepare them to become effective professionals in counseling and related fields. Outcome: Comprehensive Examination of CACREP CORE Knowledge Base Candidate will pass Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE) examination, which covers the 8 CACREP core areas. Candidates will take the (CPCE) Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination Direct-Standardized Test Students will demonstrate proficiency by Each Semester passing the Comprehensive Examination by scoring no lower than 1 standard deviation below their peers. Candidates will take the CPCE as part of their Comprehensive Examination prepatory to their clinical course work. A passing score n the the CPCE as measured by obtaining a 50% or above on each of the CORE areas. Outcome: Evalutation of Candidates Clinical Competency In order to determine a candidates proficiency in the provision of clinical counseling skills, a student must obtain a satisfactory score, or above, on the Hanna Rubric, which measures specific counseling competencies. 5 Outcome: Technology Proficiency 100 % of candidates will demonstrate proficiency in their ability to send and receive s, engage in internet searches, utilize counseling related software, navigate an online course, and operate equipment relevant to the counseling profession prior to graduation thus fulfilling CACREP technology standards. OutcomeType: Student Learning (12-13) Each student will be scored on the technology rubric which measures a students competence in designated areas. Direct-Course Embedded Related Documents: Technology Rubric Each Student will pass with a score not lower than 3.0 on a 5.0 scale. The technology rubric will be administered at the beginning of the Internship class prior to graduation to allow for time if remediation is needed.
