The dissertation discussed data that was obtained from a study measuring temperature decay where the time of death was accurately known. Ethical considerations prevented publication of the study. This is a single-handed practice with over 1300 patients providing a full range of primary care services. The surgery is located in St. Peter close to the Airport in the centre of the island. Some services are offered at the Lido Medical Centre these include Dermoscopy using a computer-based system to store and analyse skin lesions, spirometry and pulse wave analysis that measures central blood pressure and provides a measure of arterial wall stiffness. Insurance medical examinations mainly for Generali are conducted at the Lido premises. There is a part-time nurse who assists with a baby clinic and the taking of cervical smears. St. Peter s Surgery is a Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. Out of hours cover is provided by Jersey Doctors on Call and David Place Surgery usually provide locum cover during my absence. Page 2 -

3 General Practice in Jersey is currently being reformed with greater emphasis on the measurement of outcomes. General Practitioners are now appraised under the auspices of the Wessex Deanery in preparation for the re-validation and relicensing procedures being introduced by the General Medical Council. Occupational Health Services 1999-current Company Doctor Jersey Electricity Company which is a generator and supplier of electricity to Jersey. My services to this company consist of a bi-annual executive style health examination of all employees, with reporting to the company of findings of audiometry, lung function, vision and risk assessment in respect of Hand and Arm Vibration Syndrome. I provide assessments relating to medical issues that arise in their workforce. I provide similar services to the Channel Islands Cooperative Society, Group4S, Standard Chartered Bank, and I report to UK Occupational Physicians working for Capita and AXAPPP Forensic Medical Services Forensic medical examiner 2000 current 2012 current Forensic Medical Examiner, States of Jersey Police, Jersey. I am experienced in all aspects of the work of a Forensic Physician. This post also supports the Jersey Customs and Immigration Service assessing individuals suspected of internal concealment of drugs. This involves assessing the appropriateness of taking an abdominal x-ray and reading the film giving an immediate report to Customs Officers. Management of Death Working Group. This committee is concerned with the management of a sudden increase in the number of deaths either as a result of a pandemic or an accident. This committee operates at a level above the major incident plans formulated by the Police and General Hospital. Tier 2 Forensic Medical Examiner to the Metropolitan Police Service. The sessions working for the Metropolitan Police Service enhance my experience of general forensic medicine as practised in the largest police force in the UK and increases my understanding of procedures in use in England such as the National Police Information System. Expert witness 2009-current I am expert in all aspects of clinical forensic medicine and custodial care including assessment of fitness to detain and interview, substance abuse, road traffic medicine, the interpretation of injuries and the preparation of medico-legal reports for both the criminal and civil courts. I have prepared expert reports for the Coroner, Police, General Medical Council and lawyers acting for defendants in cases of assault. My daily rate for attending a Court Hearing is 650 or 330 per half day, which includes times for travelling and waiting. I expect payment even if I do not give oral evidence I will also invoice you for any reasonable expenses at cost. Travel and subsistence from Gatwick Airport. Copies of receipts will be provided if requested. In legally aided cases (where my fees constitute a disbursement), I expect you to make a prompt claim to the Legal Services Commission, and to advise me of any expected delay in settlement. In all other cases I expect payment within 30 days of invoice date from you my client irrespective of whether your client had paid you. Should accounts not be settled within the agreed period, at my discretion, I have the right to charge interest on unpaid accounts at the rate of 2% a month, or part of month, until full settlement is received.
