NRT requires all rail workers (contractors and subcontractors) to hold a valid Rail Industry Worker card or a Northwest Rapid Transit card with the relevant NRT roles to work on the project. This section applies to workers deemed to be working in the rail corridor or Red zones (delineated live rail environments) who must comply with the Rail Safety Act and project specific requirements. If you are unsure if you are required to work in these areas, please contact your NRT representative. Information for General Workers: General workers (non-rail workers) who wish to work on the Sydney Metro Northwest Project must first register in the NRT Contractor Safety Management System and hold an NRT card with the correct roles to work on the project. 2
3 Purchasing a RIW or NRT card Contractors must ensure their employees and subcontractors working on the Sydney Metro Northwest Project are competent and qualified to work on site. NRT requires all rail workers (contractors and subcontractors) to hold a valid Rail Industry Worker card or a Northwest Rapid Transit card with the relevant NRT roles to work on the project. To order a Rail Industry Worker card, please go to and click REGISTER NOW in the top menu bar. This will direct you to the RIW portal where you can purchase your card and add the required NRT roles to your RIW card. Once on the home page for the RIW Contractor Safety Management Portal, click Register. Follow the directions in this user guide, noting that you are in the RIW portal instead of the NRT Contractor Safety Management System. To order a NRT card, continue to the next page to follow the user guide to registering your company and purchasing cards in the NRT Contractor Safety Management System. 3
4 Registering your company NRT Contractor Safety Management System Please follow this step-by-step guide to registering your company and ordering cards in the NRT Contractor Safety Management System. Start in the system here > Step 1> Please go to and click REGISTER/LOGIN in the top menu bar. Once on the home page for the NRT Contractor Safety Management System, click Register. 4
5 Step 2> To register your company in the NRT Contractor Safety Management System, select Register. If your company exists in the portal, but you need to purchase new cards, continue to step 1 on page 7. If you know that you are an existing company, and your employees exist in the NRT Contractor Safety Management System, please see the Existing cardholders portal user guide that can be found on the Documents & information page of the Northwest Rapid Transit Contractor Information Page: Step 3> Search for your company in the NRT Contractor Safety Management System by entering your company name and selecting Search. If your company is not returned as existing, select Add to add your company to the NRT Contractor Safety Management System. 5
6 Step 4> Lookup your ABR, enter your ABR number and select Continue. Step 5> Select your company name by clicking on the correct company name. Step 6> Enter all of the company details, then select Submit. 6
7 Step 7> Select Continue to finalise your company registration. You will soon receive an with your login details. 7
8 Purchasing new cards Step 1> To login, enter your username and password that you received in an Onsite Track Easy . Step 2> Select Manage Employee Data. 8
9 Step 3> Enter your employee s name, then select Search. Step 4> If your employee shows in the list of employees, tick the box in the select column in line with their name. 9
10 Step 4> In the Card History column, if it states that the employee already has a Rail Industry Worker card or an NRT card, do not select Tick for card. For employees that already have a card, there is no cost to select a role and book into an induction. For a user guide on this process, please refer to the Existing NRT/RIW cardholders. Step 6> If your employee does not show in the results of employees, select Add Employee. 10
11 Step 7> Enter the employee s details, agree to the declaration, and select Save. 11
12 Step 8> Select Submit. Step 9> Select Process. 12
13 Step 10> Click Select Roles. From the pop up window, select the relevant roles. Once all of your employee s roles have been selected, scroll to the bottom of the window, then select Apply. To continue, close the window, by clicking the exit cross in the top corner. Step 11> Enter all of the required general information, before selecting Save. 13
14 Step 12> Select Upload to upload any required files and documents. Step 13> Upload your document by selecting Browse. Then select click Upload. 14
15 Step 14> Depending on the role you have selected, you may need to book training for your employee. Select Book next to the training that you would like to book your employee into. Please note> If your company is not yet associated to the site, you will need to apply for association before being able to book into training. To do this, select Apply. Once your association to site has been approved, you will be sent an . Log back into the portal and view your Action items on the home page to continue your card purchase process. 15
16 Step 15> To answer the information section, scroll to the bottom and select Edit. Answer the mandatory questions and any optional questions you would like to answer, then select Save. Step 16> Scroll to the top of the page, then select Add to Cart. 16
17 Step 17> A pop up window will display noting that you have items in your shopping cart. Select Close to close the pop up window. Step 18> In the shopping cart window, select Review. Step 19> Select Proceed to Checkout. 17
18 Step 20> Enter your payment details, then select Continue. Step 21> Select Download to download a copy of your receipt. A version will also be ed to your company contact. Select Continue to finalise your card purchase. 18
