III-1 Competition announcement for admission to the second cycle degree course (laurea magistrale) in Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (class LM 77) ACADEMIC YEAR 2015/2016 THE RECTOR Law no. 264 of regulating access to university courses; Ministerial Decree no. 270 of 22 October 24, Amendments to the regulations on the didactic autonomy of universities (Modifiche al regolamento recante norme concernenti l'autonomia didattica degli atenei) approved with Decree of the Minister for Universities and Scientific and Technological Research no. 509 of 3 November 1999; the decision of the Academic Senate of 17 February 2015 with which it established that access to the second cycle degree programme (laurea magistrale) in Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship will be limited for the academic year 2015/2016, setting the maximum number of places available for enrolment in the first year at 100. the decision of the Board of the Department of Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods of 18 February 2015, establishing that a further 12 places will be made available to non-eu candidates residing abroad; DECREES the announcement of a competition for admission to the second cycle degree course (laurea magistrale) in Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (class LM-77) for the academic year 2015/

2 Art. 1 - Admission requirements A first cycle degree (laurea) in one of the following classes is required for admission to the second cycle degree course (laurea magistrale) in Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship: L-7 Civil and Environmental Engineering L-8 Information Engineering L-9 Industrial Engineering L-13 Biological Sciences L-15 Tourism Sciences L-16 Administration and Organisation Sciences L-18 Economics and Business Management Sciences e L-21 Territorial, Urban, Landscape and Environmental Planning Sciences L-25 Agricultural and Forestry Sciences and Technologies L-26 Agricultural and Food Sciences and Technologies L-27 Chemical Sciences and Technologies L-30 Physical Sciences and Technologies L-31 Computer Sciences and Technologies L-32 Environmental and Natural Sciences and Technologies L-33 Economic Sciences L-34 Geological Sciences L-36 Political Sciences and International Relations L-37 Social Sciences for Cooperation, Development and Peace L-40 Sociology L-42 History L-43 Cultural Heritage Conservation and Restoration Technologies L-41 Statistics L-12 Linguistic Mediation L-20 Communication Sciences Candidates must also have gained at least 40 University credits (CFU/ECTS) in the following fields: a) Business Sciences SECS-P/07, SECS-P/08, SECS-P/09, SECS-P/10, SECS-P/11 b) Economic Sciences SECS-P/01, SECS-P/02, SECS-P/03, SECS-P/06, SECS-P/12 c) Mathematical and Statistical Sciences SECS-S/09, SECS-S/03 d) Law IUS/04, IUS/05, IUS/07 of which: at least 18 CFU/ECTS in fields a) and b) at least 9 CFU/ECTS in field c) Candidates in possession of a university qualification gained abroad and recognized as suitable by the University can be admitted. 2

3 Students enrolled on the final year of the first cycle degree courses listed above can be admitted to the admission exam as long as they graduate by 31 December Art. 2 - Number of places available The number of places available for enrolment on the first year is 100, plus 12 places for non-eu citizens residing abroad. EU and non-eu citizens in possession of a residence permit for Italy issued in accordance with art. 26 of law no. 189 of 30 July 2002 have access to university education under the same conditions as Italian students. The following are considered equivalent to EU citizens: citizens of Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, the Republic of San Marino, refugees and holders of subsidiary protection, personnel serving in foreign diplomatic missions and in international bodies with headquarters in Italy accredited by the Italian State or the Holy See and their dependent families, limited to spouses and children. Art. 3 - Exam registration procedure and deadline Registration for the admission exam will open on 13 April 2015 and close on 31 August 2015 at midday, with no possibility of extension. All candidates are required to apply online, following the procedure below: 1. Register on the University portal through the page (operation not necessary for those already registered on the portal or in possession of university log-in details) 2. Sign up to the online application services for second cycle degrees with an admission exam, using own log-in details: 3. Pay the fee of in one of the following ways: using the MAV (notice of payment) form generated at the end of the online registration procedure by credit card (until 5 days before the deadline for applications). Without exception, payment must be made by the deadline for registration at the very latest, on pain of exclusion. Payment using the MAV form can only be made in Italy. The online application service also requires candidates to upload the following documents in.jpg,.pdf or.rtf format: Graduates / future graduates of other Universities: 3

4 self-certification of first cycle degree/enrolment with exams: the document must contain a list of the exams taken, with grades, credits (CFU/ECTS) and scientific-disciplinary sectors. In addition to their personal details, candidates who have not yet graduated must provide: the total credits (CFU/ECTS) obtained; the weighted average grade of the exams taken; exams taken and not yet recorded with the relative credits; exams not yet taken with the relative credits; and their expected date of graduation. Candidates with foreign qualifications: First cycle degree certificate including exams: one or more official certificates must be provided confirming the qualification obtained or that the candidate is enrolled on a degree programme, as well as the exams passed, with grades and credits. Alternatively, the Diploma supplement can be provided. Curriculum vitae A receipt is issued at the end of the online registration procedure, which must be shown to the examining board on the day of the exam. The receipt is the only document accepted as proof of registration for the admission exam. Any candidate who provides false details or is not in possession of the admission requirements will be excluded from the final ranking list. Non-EU candidates residing abroad are nonetheless required to present an application for preenrolment on the course to the Italian diplomatic mission in their country of origin, in compliance with the modes of University enrolment for foreign students provided for by the law in force. Art. 4 - Disabled candidates In order to ensure equal opportunities during the exam, candidates with disabilities who require extra time and/or specific aids must send a specific request to the Segreteria Studenti di Scienze politiche, economiche e sociali, Via Santa Sofia 9/1, by 31 August 2015, including certification issued by the competent local healthcare structure, in accordance with law no. 104/92 as subsequently amended. Art. 5 - Candidates with SLD Candidates with a diagnosis of specific learning disabilities (s.l.d.) under law 170 of 2010 are granted 30% more time than that set for the other candidates. The board can also consent to the use of compensatory tools that, considering the type of test to be taken and the type and degree of the candidate s disability, are necessary to ensure equal opportunities during the exam. 4

5 To be allowed to use the abovementioned measures, candidates with s.l.d. must send a specific request to the Segreteria Studenti di Scienze politiche, economiche e sociali, Via Santa Sofia 9/1, by 31 August 2015, including appropriate certification issued not more than three years previously by the National Health Service or accredited specialists or facilities. Art. 6 - Admission exam schedule and procedure The admission exam will take place on 8 September 2015, at the premises in: via Passione aula 2 Informatica [computer room 2]. Candidates must arrive at 9.00a.m. bearing the proof of identity indicated in the exam registration phase. Candidates who arrive without proof of identity, within invalid proof of identity, or late will not be admitted to the exam. When candidates identification has been checked the exam will start. The exam will last for 60 minutes and will be divided into several sessions based on the number of candidates. The exam start time for each session will be indicated on the receipt. During the exam candidates cannot leave the room, use handwritten notes, texts of any kind, calculators or anything else specified before the start of the exam. The board and the supervisory staff will supervise observance of the abovementioned rules and have the right to adopt the necessary measures resulting from their non-observance. For any matters not covered in this announcement, the provisions on the conduct of public competitions apply. Art. 7 - Examining board The examining board is appointed by Rector s Decree. During the exam the board will be assisted by teaching and administrative staff, who will be responsible for supervising and checking the identity of the candidates. Art. 8 - Exam programme, assessment criteria and ranking list For access to the degree course in Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship the exam is set by the University. The purpose of the exam is to assess whether candidates possess the basic level of knowledge deemed essential for enrolment on the course, and will consist of multiple choice questions on basic competence regarding the following subjects: Business management and accounting Strategy Organization Statistics 5

6 The exam will be graded as follows: 1 point for each correct answer 0 points for each wrong, crossed out or illegible answer, or unanswered question Candidates who fail to provide the correct answer to at least half of the total questions in the exam, i.e. 25 out of 50, will be excluded from the ranking list. The ranking list in order of merit will be drawn up based on the exam result and on the final first cycle degree grade, which each count for 50% of the total score. In the case of future graduates, the weighted average grade of all exams taken up to the date of the admission exam will be considered in the place of the final degree grade. In the event of two or more candidates with the same score, priority will be given to the candidate with the higher score for educational merit (the final first cycle degree grade or, in the case of future graduates, the weighted average grade for the exams taken up to the date of the admission exam). In the case of persisting parity in relation to educational merit, priority will be given to the younger candidate. Art. 9 - Enrolment The ranking list will be published on the University s website within 8 days of the exam, on the following page: - Servizi on line SIFA - Graduatorie di ammissione corsi di laurea ( Graduate and non-graduate candidates who achieve a sufficiently high position in the ranking list must enrol by the deadline and following the instructions provided in the margin of the ranking list. Before enrolling online, candidates with qualifications gained abroad who achieve a sufficiently high position in the ranking list must provide the following documentation (showing originals and delivering photocopies) to the Ufficio studenti internazionali Via Santa Sofia 9/1, Milan, by the deadline provided in the margin of the ranking list: First cycle degree (BSc. or equivalent), translated into Italian by an official translator, legalized by the competent authorities; "Dichiarazione di valore in loco" issued by the Italian diplomatic mission in the country in which the degree was obtained, or Diploma Supplement if adopted; Copy of upper secondary school diploma in Italian, English, French, Spanish or German; Italian tax identification number; Copy of valid residence permit (only for non-eu candidates). The ranking list for non-eu candidates residing abroad without a residence permit will be available from the Ufficio Studenti Internazionali - Via Santa Sofia, 9/1 and published on the University s website 6

7 Art Ranking list Any places that become available if successful candidates fail to enrol by the deadline will be allocated taking into account the order of the ranking list.
