3 Viscolone 1. DESCRIPTION CONNECTING THE PLC MODULE TO THE PC AND THE POWER SUPPLY SETUP ON THE PC TO RUN THE VISCOLONE ADDITIONAL PROGRAM FILES FOR CONVI THE PC IS SET UP TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE PLC CHANGES IN THE CONVI SETUP FILE CONNECTING THE PLC TO THE BATCH PLANT SETTINGS FOR WATER PROPORTIONING...11

5 Viscolone Side 1 1. Description The Viscolone solution consists of Visco Control 1 and a PLC module, making connection from the pc-signals in Visco Control 1 to the batch control system (I/O signals). The Viscolone makes it possible to control the concrete viscosity, without any interface programming in the batch control system to communicate with the Visco Control 1. The Viscolone therefore gives a unique possibility to benefit the unsurpassed ability of the Visco Control controling viscosity, also on batch plants where the interface connection either for technical or for commercial reasons can t be established. 2. Connecting the plc module to the pc and the power supply The plc module must be powered by the delivered cable with a voltage of 100 to 240 V AC. Connect the plc module to the pc running the Visco Control 1. The connection is established with an Ethernet cad 6 cable with RJ45 plugs. The cable must be cross-over cable. The cable is not a part of the delivery. 3. Setup on the pc to run the Viscolone The plc is loaded with program and auto start at delivery and the plc-ip is set to Additional program files for Convi Ad the new program files conviserver.exe, adsdll.dll and TcAmsRemoteMgr.exe plus TcAdsDll.dll to the Convi folder. Old versions are replaced. 2. The pc is set up to communicate with the plc. Start the pc and right click at My Network Places

6 Viscolone Side 2 Choose Properties. Right click at the actual network and choose Properties.

7 Viscolone Side 3 Mark Internet protocol TCP/IP and choose Properties The following shows that the pc normally runs DHCP.

8 Viscolone Side 4 If the pc is running without other network connections it can be set to the fixed ip address and subnet mask Do this in the above dialog box by choosing Use the following ip address and enter the values in Ip address and in Subnet mask If this is the case jump to Start TcAmsRemoteMgr.exe If the pc runs DHCP and it is used for other network connections, click tab Alternate configuration. Mark User configured and enter the values shown below.

9 Viscolone Side 5 Close all dialog boxes by choosing OK. Open a dos-prompt by clicking Start and choosing Run. Enter cmd and choose OK

10 Viscolone Side 6 Enter ping and activate the enter key. If the above is shown it is all OK. If not, write route print and activate the enter key.

11 Viscolone Side 7 If there is no line containing in the destination column, then write route p add MASK and activate the enter key. Change with the actual ip address which the pc has got via dhcp. Enter ping again. When ping is giving the right result then continue. Start TcAmsRemoteMgr.exe in the Convi folder Press ADD.

13 Viscolone Side 9 3. Changes in the Convi setup file Ad, in the file Conviserver.ini in the Convi folder, the four lines marked bold at the shown position. [CommSetup] Port= 0 MainBase= 0 Interface=1 AdsInterface= AdsPort=801 PulsPrLiter=10 Tail=0 IComPort=Com1 ITcpipPort=7070 The pc is now set up to communicate with the plc and there has been made a path to the Convi program. 4. Connecting the plc to the batch plant The connections needed to the batch plant can either be taken directly from the batch plant plc or from the wires elsewhere at the plant. All connections must be 24 VDC. The following information s must be exchanged: Information telling, that the last material has entered the mixer. Blocking the discharge, to insure that the batch isn t discharged before the Viscolone has accepted the viscosity. A signal for water proportioning. Pulses from the water flow meter. The batch plant control is ready to discharge the mix. In addition to the above there is also a possibility to connect: An external alarm. An external reset of the alarm.

14 Viscolone Side 10 The last material has entered the mixer: If there is a signal for weigh hopper empty or proportioning ended for the actual material then use it. If there isn t then use the signal discharge weigh hopper or start proportioning. Connect the signal to module 1408 terminal 1. Blocking for discharge: The wire carrying the discharge mix signal is led through the Viscolone. Connect the wire to module 2612 terminal 2 and take it out at module 2012 terminal 3 and connect it to the valve at the mixer discharge gate. Water proportioning: The signal is coming at module 2602 terminal 1. Connect it to the water valve for fine proportioning. If there is no fine proportioning valve it must be installed. Pulses from the water flow meter: Connect the pulse signal from the water flow meter to module 1408 terminal 2 The batch plant control is ready to discharge the mixer: Take the signal from module 2612 terminal 2 and make a connection to module 1408 terminal 5 External alarm: The signal is set at module 2602 terminal 5. External reset of the alarm. The signal is given to module 1408 terminal 6.

15 Viscolone Side Settings for water proportioning Pulses pr. unit of water: The system is default set to value of 10 pulses per unit of water proportioned. If the water meter is giving an other number of pulses per unit of water, then this value must be entered to the Conviserver.ini file in Convi folder. Write the value in the line PulsPrLiter (see below). [CommSetup] Port= 0 MainBase= 0 Interface=1 AdsInterface= AdsPort=801 PulsPrLiter=10 Tail=0 IComPort=Com1 ITcpipPort=7070 Tailing at the water proportioning: The tailing at the water proportioning is default set to 0, in case of a measurable tailing, then the value must be entered to the Conviserver.ini file in the Convi folder. Write the value in the line Tail (see above).
