4 Migration Training and Certification As with any technology-based service offering, a successful migration practice begins with ensuring that your consultants are well versed in migration best practices and Vision s Double-Take migration tools. Vision Solutions offers three role-based learning paths: Level 101 Geared toward business development representatives who will need high-level knowledge and an understanding of the tool and its benefits Level 201 Geared toward pre-sales solution architects who will scope projects, perform demonstrations and execute test environment Proofs of Concept (POCs) Level 301 Designed for technical consultants/service engineers and technical project managers who will execute the migrations Level 301 training is available via three delivery modes: classroom, remote instructor-led or self-paced elearning. If you need to train five or more consultants, classroom training delivered on you site by an expert instructor is the best option. For smaller groups of consultants who are relatively new to migrations, we recommend online instructor-led training over self-paced elearning, as interaction with the instructor proves highly beneficial. Our self-paced elearning curriculum is typically the best option for consultants with significant experience in migration projects and tools. All training courses conclude with a comprehensive certification exam to demonstrate mastery of the learning path. 3

If you do most of the migrations yourself, having a Vision Solutions Consultant come in at defined checkpoints to validate your progress, provide guidance on any issues faced, and/or to ensure that you are using best practices will reduce the risk of problems arising, while increasing your team s confidence in the results and accelerating their experience with migration processes. Having a Vision Solutions Consultant on speed-dial to assist with any issues that may arise during test and production migration cutovers can make the difference between success and failure. While our Customer Care team is always available to assist with diagnosing and fixing any rare product-defect issue you may encounter, having a Vision Solutions Consultant with prior knowledge of your project and practice can make it easier and faster to resolve configuration, network or technical issues if they arise.
