1 Local Data Concentrator (LDC1020) The LDC has been designed to communicate with the Orsis range of multiutility data loggers to gather and transmit collated energy consumption data to the Orsis AMM back office system for data validation and delivery. The LDC communicates with the remote meters and data loggers via secure, low energy meshed 433MHz wireless network and via either a GPRS or Ethernet secure VPN tunnel to the Orsis AMM back office system for data validation. The meshed network is self-healing, ensuring always on communications for data retrieval and transmission. The communication path is two-way, enabling remote configuration of the meters and data loggers, software upgrades and de-energisation. The LDC can support up to 256 wireless connections and 512 direct connected devices, considerably reducing CAPEX and OPEX costs by reducing the number of transmission devices needed compared to a traditional installation. 2 Elster A100C Electronic Single Phase Meter with integrated RF Data Logger The A100C has been designed with accuracy and reliability in mind and benefits from the integration with the Orsis RF communications platform for remote monitoring and data transmission. The A100C is a compact and secure domestic style, single phase electric meter that delivers a cost effective solution for one or two rate domestic applications. The A100C can be integrated with an Orsis data logging and transmission device (Data Logger - COA) enabling two way communications with the Local Data Concentrator (LDC1020). The energy consumption data is transmitted to the LDC for data verification and forwarded to Suppliers and Data Collectors/Data Aggregators. The data retrieved can be used by the consumer to understand their energy consumption levels and manage their fiscal and environmental cost from the information provided. 4 Elster A1140 Electronic Polyphase Meter The A1140 is provided as either CT operated or Direct Connected. It is a compact and secure commercial/industrial polyphase electric meter that delivers a cost effective solution for active energy, four quadrant reactive energy and kvah measurements. Two way communications allows for remote configuration of the A1140C to enable tariff changes or two rate tariffs to be applied. Furthermore, energy consumption data is transmitted to the LDC for data verification for Suppliers and Data Collectors/Data Aggregators and integration into third party am&t systems adopted by the consumer. The data retrieved can then be used by the consumer to understand their energy consumption levels and manage their fiscal and environmental cost from the information provided. In addition to Primary billing settlement the A1140 meters can also be used in a sub meter configuration to integrate energy consumption data into am&t or facilities and energy management systems. The Elster A1140 is connected directly to the LDC removing the need for the RF network. This scenario is common when directly connecting multiple 3 phase meters in a switch room or plant room. Furthermore the LDC is powered via the meter removing the need for future data logger battery replacement. Further security can be provided as an option with terminal cover and main cover removal detection. As an alternative, the latter detection switch can be used to allow the CT ratio to be changed. A count of the number of each event is recorded. A time and date stamp of the three most recent events together with the source is recorded. The count and time and date of the most recent event can be included in the display sequence.

6 RF Data Logger The RF Data Logger has been designed to interoperate with all main and sub meters from any utility provided there is a pulsed output available from the meter. The RF Data Logger, therefore can retrieve data from electric and gas meters and also flow meters such as water, hi-lo flow, heat, oil and LPG. The RF Data Loggers are ATEX Zone Zero approved for use with gas meters. The RF data logger communicates with the Local Data Concentrator via secure, low energy meshed 433MHz wireless network and via either a GPRS or Ethernet secure VPN tunnel to the Orsis AMM back office system for data validation. The RF data logger communication range can be extended as the RF Data Loggers can also communicate with each other, allowing onward communication with more distant meters from a single LDC. Creating a mesh of radio-linked meters overcomes the limitations of radio signal strength, which can be weakened by buildings and other man-made or topographical obstructions.
