1 Curriculum Vitæ of Luís Filipe Pinheiro de Castro Overview Luis Castro received the (ve years) Diploma (Licenciatura) Degree from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, in 1991, the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Applied Mathematics and Mathematics from IST, Technical University of Lisbon, in 1994 and 1998, respectively. In 2004, he received the Habilitation (Agregação) Degree from University of Aveiro. From 1998 to 2000 he was in the Directive Council of Department of Mathematics of University of Aveiro; from 2000 to 2002 he was Vice-President of the Directive Board of the Centre Delegation of the Portuguese Mathematical Society; from 2001 to 2003 he was President of the Scientic-Pedagogic Council of Department of Mathematics of University of Aveiro; from 2001 to 2003 he was Coordinator of the Scientic Committee of Department of Mathematics of University of Aveiro; from January 2006 to December 2009, he was the Scientic Coordinator of the Research Unit Mathematics and Applications, which had 55 Ph.D. members and 82 elements in total. He is currently the Scientic Coordinator/Director of CIDMA - Center for Research and Development in Mathematics and Applications which is one of the largest research centers of Mathematics in Portugal (recognized by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology) and has 91 Ph.D. Members, 33 Ph.D. Students and 24 Collaborators, in a total of 148 elements; see He has more than 15 years of teaching experience in Mathematics at B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels (being always in the group of Professors of Aveiro University Maths Department with better evaluation from the students in the University ocial evaluation system). His current research interests include several topics in the areas of Functional Analysis, Integral and Differential Equations, Operator Theory and Mathematical-Physics. In the last ten years he contributed with several publications concerning operator relations between dierent types of operator classes, Fredholm theory of classes of singular integral and pseudo-dierential operators, factorization theory of matrix-valued functions and operators (including Wiener-Hopf factorization and associated Riemann-Hilbert problems), wave diraction problems and electromagnetic theory from a mathematical viewpoint, analysis of boundary value problems in dierent domains within Sobolev type spaces, solvability of integral equations of dierent types, qualitative theory of dierential equations, approximate solutions for dierential and integral equations, Tikhonov regularization, and theory of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces and its applications. He has contributed with over 100 peer-reviewed published papers, and gave more than 100 talks at research seminars and international conferences or workshops. He supervised 5 M.Sc. students, 5 Ph.D. students and served as adviser for 5 post-docs. His current h-index is 11, the i10-index is 17 and his research papers received 596 citations until now (of which 332 were in the last ve years) data taken from Google Scholar.
