5 GRNET3 IP architecture GRNET3 continues to provide IP services: IP routers installed at major Greek cities IP routers connected with 2,5G PoS framed lambdas implemented via GRNET s DWDM equipment Clients aggregated to the local GRNET3 routers by using 1GbE framed lambdas implemented via GRNET s DWDM equipment For clients with high requirements (called Power Clients PC) and traffic overcoming 1Gbps, an IP aggregation architecture is implemented 10Gbps uplinks are aggregated to a major PoP using DWDM and then served at the IP layer 5
