1 Skills for Care Graduate Management Training Scheme Application form Skills for Care, home of the National Skills Academy for Social Care, is the employer-led workforce development body for adult social care in England, a growing sector that currently has around 17,000 employers and a workforce of around 1.5 million workers contributing an estimated 43 billion to the English economy. We work with employers across England to make sure their people have the right skills and values to deliver high quality care. The National Graduate Management Training Scheme looks for individuals who have the drive and the values to become future leaders and managers in adult social care a diverse, challenging and uniquely rewarding sector. Supported by the Department of Health, the 12 month scheme is part of Skills for Care s ambition to promote and foster high quality leadership for the future social care workforce. Before you apply for the scheme, we would ask that you ensure that you are familiar with what it will involve and that you have checked your eligibility. The application process will ask you to declare that you are eligible to take part. All applicants are required to have a minimum of 2:2 at degree level or above (or equivalent) in any academic discipline. 7 Your social care placement: If you are offered a place on the scheme, we will go through a process of matching you to a suitable host organisation for your 12 months on the programme. This is a complicated process and a number of factors are taken into account, this includes the placement outline and support arrangements, organisational type and geography. We require that all trainees are flexible in terms of placement type and location, including being prepared to work in any part of the country. However, we will take your personal preferences into account in the matching process.
