14 Getting your transcript Do not leave Helsinki without collecting your own official transcript! One transcript free of charge. For additional transcripts you need to pay a fee. From Student Services at City Centre or Kumpula or order it to be sent via mail (studentinfo@helsinki.fi), delivery 3-5 working days. Make sure everything is registered! You can see your credits in real-time in WebOodi. If the transcript is not complete and there are courses missing, please contact the department that arranged the course. Note: Transcript of Records includes all the courses that you have passed at UH. Courses for which you have enrolled in WebOodi but have not passed will not be shown on the Transcript. It is not possible to delete courses which you have passed from the Transcript. Transcript is not automatically sent to you or your home university. 17 Learning agreement (LA) You are responsible for checking the prerequisites for each course! Exchange students should follow their learning agreements, it s a guide and plan for the studies The preliminary approval with possible changes and recommendations has been sent before exchange period Changes possible (overlaps, cancellations, fully booked, new...) You can select courses for exchange students that seems suitable for your interests based on the course description and prerequisites Register to the courses in WebOodi If you take new courses from the Dept. of Food and Environmental Sciences, please inform the coordinator Ms Tiina Naskali by Meet the coordinator if problems in changes of LA (an appointment) Signatures to your LA Changes From department coordinators Only to final form If you are given fixed dates for signatures, please follow it! 19 Lectures Lectures starting quarter past, but exams on the hour! Be on time and take care of your schedules => if you have overlapping courses as your interests make a choice! If you know you re going to be late, inform the teacher Attendance is often not compulsory, but it is always useful and advisable, since contact teaching improves understanding of new topics and learning. Attendance is compulsory at some lecture courses (for example, when the course requirements do not include a traditional examination). If a student is unable to attend a specific class, he or she is personally responsible for asking fellow students what assignments or instructions were given during the class. 21 Exam arrangements 1 There are no exam periods or weeks Lecture exams and fixed general examination dates given by departments Unless otherwise informed, lecture courses have an exam in the end of the course (if the course is completed with an exam). A Finnish specialty, general examinations (set book examinations), are arranged usually once a month. Oral examinations are unusual. 3 exam possibilities for one course during the dates, which given in the beginning of the course! Exams last usually between two to four hours and begin exactly at the hour announced. One cannot leave the exam venue until a permission is given by the supervisor (in normal case after 30 min) You have to be prepared to prove your identity upon request e.g. by showing a passport, an identity card or a student card. 22 Exam arrangements 2 Writing equipment The use of dictionaries, calculators etc. NOT accepted in the exams if not stated otherwise If a dictionary is allowed in the exam, the supervisor checks it before the beginning of exam. No additional marks in the dictionary are allowed. Electronic dictionaries are forbidden Necessary amount of medicine and a small amount of snacks/drink are allowed It is strongly prohibited to possess a mobile phone or other communication advice during the exam (cell phone turned off and left into a bag) Bags etc. extra equipment has to be placed to the side of the examination venue Maatalous-metsätieteellinen tiedekunta / Henkilön nimi / Esityksen nimi

23 Exam results Grades 1-5, also Pass or Fail -> if you need a grade, contact teacher in the beginning of the course! Failed courses are not registered to the transcript of records Statement on failed courses from the department coordinators only if needed!
