1 The First 3.5 years The Anti-Christ & The Great Tribulation The Rapture takes place The Covenant is signed by the anti-christ or the lawless one starting the 7 year period known as the tribulation (Daniel s 70 th week) 1) The opening of the Seals 2) The 7 Seals contains the 7 Trumpets and the 7 Bowls 3) The 7 Trumpets are accomplished and then at the middle of the week is the Abomination of Desolation God s final judgment reveals unbelief and unwillingness to Repent I. The Anti-Christ the false Christ II. The Abomination of Desolation the desecration of the temple III. The 7 Bowls God s final wrath poured out the judgment of unbelief I. The Anti-Christ the one against Christ 2 Thessalonians 2:1 10 Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, 2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

2 4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. 5 Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? 6 And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8 Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; 9 that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, 10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. a. Will not be revealed until the apostasy vs. 3 b. Called the man of lawlessness vs. 3 c. Called the son of destruction - vs. 3 d. He opposes vs. 4 e. Exalts himself above every other god and object of worship vs. 4 f. Takes his seat IN THE TEMPLE - vs. 4 g. DISPLAYS HIMSELF as being God vs. 4 h. Will be revealed when the Restrainer is taken out of the way vs. 7 i. The Lord will slay him by the breath of his mouth when He returns vs. 8 j. The lawless one is in accord with the activity of Satan - vs. 9 k. Having power and signs and false wonders vs. 9 l. Deceives those who perish as they did not receive the love of the truth vs. 10 Revelation 6:2 I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

3 Rev.13.1 the Beast who 1) Is mortally wounded and healed vs. 3 2) The whole earth follows this beast vs. 3 3) Worship Satan, the dragon along with the beast. Vs. 4 4) Blasphemes God vs. 5 & 6 Rev ff - False prophet makes all to worship the first beast and or the anti Christ Warren W. Wiersbe The Greek prefix anti has two meanings: against, and instead of. Satan not only opposes Christ, but he wants to be worshiped and obeyed instead of Christ. Satan has always wanted to be worshiped and served as God. He will one day produce his masterpiece, the Antichrist, who will cause the world to worship Satan and believe Satan s lies. II. The Abomination of Desolation the desecration of the temple Daniel 9:27 And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate. Daniel 11:31 Forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation. Matthew 24:15 21 Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. 17 Whoever is on the housetop

4 must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. 18 Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. Matt and Mark begin where the Lord tells the disciples that there will not be a stone left then shifts to the Mt. of Olives where the Lord begins to tell them of the end times Luke 19.42ff speaking of Titus with the Roman army coming to destroy not the Tribulation period as is discussed in Matt and Mark GNTC The abomination of desolation refers to the Antichrist s causing the Jewish sacrifices to cease by setting up an image of the beast to be worshiped in a future rebuilt temple III. The 7 Bowls God s final wrath poured out the judgment of unbelief Revelation 15:1 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels who had seven plagues, which are the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished. Revelation 15:7 Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever.

5 Rev bowls of wrath poured out 1) A malignant sore on those who had the mark of the beast - vs. 2 2) Sea became blood and all life in the sea died - vs. 3 3) All the rivers and springs of water became blood - vs. 4 a. Due to the killing of the saints and prophets 4) The sun scorches mankind - vs. 8 Revelation 16:9 Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory. 5) Darkness along with sores still did not repent vs ) The river Euphrates is dried up for the advancement of the kings of the east for war vs. 12 7) Final bowl poured out huge hailstones, earthquake, Jerusalem is split into 3 parts, the cities of the nations are destroyed and Babylon experiences the wrath of God GNTC The moment in history has arrived for the Judge of all the earth to finish the outpouring of His wrath on mankind and initiate the final stage of His return to earth.

6 2 Timothy 3:1 5 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. 1) Have we received the payment of sin provided by the Lamb of God, Christ Jesus? 2) Are we under the protection of the Lamb, a part of the Church? 3) Do we have a form of godliness a religion but actually don t know the Lord and thus have no power? 4) How is Christ being revealed through our lives so that those who are not believers are being persuaded of their need of Christ as a result of Christ s transforming power being seen in and through our lives?
