1 Purchasing Specifications All Product 1. Packing Slip shall contain, at a minimum, the following: Cooper B-Line purchase order number Part Number (B-Line s and Vendors) Description Quantity per line item What box number each item is in Total Number of boxes in shipment Dimensions of shipment Final delivery address Packing slip shall be put inside the crate and the crate marked on the outside saying packing slip enclosed 2. Commercial Invoice shall contain, at a minimum, the following: Cooper B-Line purchase order number Part Number Description Quantity per line item Unit price and extended price on each line Total Value of shipment Country of origin HTSUS (to the 8 th or 10 th digit) Terms of sale 3. In addition to the specification the vendor must grant access for an onsite audit by a Cooper B-line representative to determine acceptability of the vendor quality program. 4. Delivery Trucks must be dock height and no step down trailers. Flat beds must be tarped. Material shall be orientated for rear load/unload. Material shall be oriented for side unload for Reno shipments. 5. Receiving hours: Highland, IL 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM Troy, IL 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM Reno, NV 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM Sherman, TX 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM Overseas container deliveries must be scheduled 2 or 3 days in advanced. Any exception must be approved prior to arrival by the receiving plant. 6. Vendors must report to Cooper B-Line the following: Any product known to be defective that has been supplied to Cooper B-Line, changes in the Quality Manual, quality program changes, changes to the QA Program, or any adverse condition at the vendor s facility that could cause the product supplied to Cooper B-Line to be defective.

2 Additional Requirements for Raw Material All material must meet the following requirements: (Failure to comply is grounds for rejection) 1. All coils must be tightly wound with camber control within AISI tolerances. Coil breaks or telescoping will be reason for rejection of the entire coil of steel. 2. Delamination and cracks will be reason to reject any material. 3. No welded coils permitted. 4. Coils must be full width without edge interruption. 5. Surface condition of all materials must be sufficient to make acceptable finished parts. Pits, scratches, gouges, white rust, red rust or staining on the surface of the material will be cause for rejection of the material. Coils must be free of stamps. 6. Gage tolerance required by Cooper B-Line shall be shown on each purchase order. 7. All material must comply with the current ASTM specifications and any additional specifications called out by Cooper B-Line Purchase Order. 8. Galvanized steel must be able to form without fracture or flaking of the galvanized coating. 9. If the coils size is not on the PO, refer to the table below. 10. Coil OD: Coil Type A Minimum of 64 and Maximum 72 Coil Type B Maximum 60 In the event that the diameter size and minimum weight requirement are in conflict contact Cooper B-Line for instructions. 11. The mill certified material test report is required. The following items are required on all certifications sent to Cooper B-Line: A. B-Line purchase/slitting order number B. Description- gage, size, type of material C. ASTM specification D. Chemistry & mechanical/physical properties for each heat E. Processors tag number/mill coil number F. Material melted and manufactured origin must be noted. G. Signature

3 12. Each coil must be tagged individually (not one tag for an entire lift), with a minimum of the following information : A. B-Line purchase order/slitting order number B. Description- size, gage, type of material, weight C. Mill heat number D. Processor tag number and cut number 13. Each supplier shall contact B-Line s Supply Chain Manager (or designee) for approval of any specification of the coils that does not adhere to the requirements of B-Line s purchasing standards. A. If undersize O.D. coils are approved, a price reduction may apply. Bar Stock Packaging 1. 2,500 lbs. maximum per bundle. 2. Bundle must have only one common part per bundle. 3. Different heat codes must be segregated with separate identification tags material must have 3 bands evenly spaced. Material longer than 10 must have 4 bands evenly spaced. 5. All bundles must be tagged with the following information: material thickness, length, width, weight, mill heat number and processor s tag number. A tag must be on each end of the material. Aluminum Extrusions Packaging 1. Bundles must be packaged per Cooper B-Line Drawings. (Contact Purchasing or QA for copy of Drawings) 2. There must be only one size per bundle. 3. All bundles must be tagged with the following information: Cooper Part Number, Part Description, PO Number, Lot or Heat Number, country of origin, and bundle quantity. Standard Coil Packaging 1. All coils with a material thickness less than.242 inches shall have a minimum of 4 bands equally spaced running through the center of the coil to the outside diameter. All coils with a material thickness of.242 inches or greater shall have 5 bands. (In addition for Reno a 6 th band is to be added and banding width is to be 1 ¼ ). 2. Coils must have properly crimped banding and only one clip per steel band. 3. All coils with will need an additional band running around the outside circumference of the coil. 4. Banding will be steel, with a minimum width of ¾ inches. 5. All coils will be tagged with the following information: material width and thickness, material finish, weight, mill heat number, mill coil number, processor s tag number and cut number. 6. Coil should be orientated eye to the sky for shipment. For coils shipping to Troy, 18 and wider coils need to be packaged eye to the side for shipment. 7. Coils should be blocked to prevent the center of the coil from telescoping and allow the coils to be stacked. See below for block location. The block shall be designed for forklift rear unloading. All

4 blocks shall be wrapped with VCI paper (or a pre-approved substitute) to prevent moisture from accessing the coil. All blocking must hold coil weight. 8. On skids of multiple coils, 1 ½ to 2 inch spacing is needed between coils. (This does not apply to Reno. No spacers on multiple coils at Reno.) Blocks between coils must be 4x4. 9. If coils are packaged on a skid, the skid must comply with the pallet requirements listed on page 7. 4 x4 Blocking should be placed top and bottom. Standard Sheet Packaging 1. 2,800 lbs. maximum per skid. (Max skid weight is 2,500 lbs for Reno) 2. Skid runners must be free from knots, cracks, and defects. 3. Skid and material must not exceed 15 inches in height. (For Reno only must not exceed 10 ) 4. Skids must have only one size of material and only one stack, with the exception of widths less than 12. Contact the receiving plant for skid size requirements. 5. It is preferred for the material to be one mill heat per skid, however if multiple mill heats are on the skid, the mill heats must be identified on the material. 6. All skids must be made and banded as specified in the drawings below. 7. All skids must be tagged with the following information: material thickness, length, width, weight, mill heat number and processor s tag number. 8. All skids will have VCI paper (or a pre-approved substitute) on the top and bottom to protect the material from moisture.

5 Packaging 1. Product is to be packaged to prevent damage. 2. A packing slip showing Cooper B-Line PO#, Part # and quantity must accompany each shipment. 3. When required by the PO, certification must accompany the product 4. Material must be shipped on wooden pallets for rear unloading. 5. All packages will be clearly marked with part description and quantity. 6. Parts packaged in B-Line boxes require the following: Product should fit in the box without causing the box to be deformed. A single box cannot exceed 35 LBS. Box construction shall be from Single wall (double face), c-flute. o Top Loading: 32 lbs/in. ECT (edge crush test) minimum. o The load rating of the corrugate must be printed on the box.

6 Product Packaging Boxes shall be taped. Boxes without tape indicate a partial box. (On partial boxes, the box qty must be marked with the actual qty and the original qty must be crossed out.) Label shall be placed in the center of the box and straight. Labels placed on the box without care will be grounds for rejection. Picture 1 Box and Label product Boxes shall be oriented in different directions per layer to help the stability of the skid. Boxes shall also be oriented so the label can be seen from all 4 sides of the skid. Skid shall be stretch wrapped in clear film with a minimum thickness of.003 mils. A minimum of 4 full layers of wrap should be applied. Boxes may not overhang the skid. Note: Picture 2 Skid and Wrap Product A piece of corrugated cardboard the same size of the skid must be placed below the bottom layer. In addition, corrugated cardboard must be placed between layers, as needed, to help with the stability of the stack. The skid size may not exceed 35 x 42. The height may not exceed 44. The skid height may not exceed 44. The skid weight may not exceed 3,000 LBS.

8 Import Crates The following requirements are in addition to the requirements listed above. Crates must be built strong enough to be able to stack 4 high in transit and in the warehouse. Poorly built crates will be grounds for rejection. The crate shall use a heavy duty pallet design. The crate shall not exceed 30 inches (760mm) high.

9 Imported or Exported the wood used to package the product as well as dunnage must comply with: International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures ISPM 15.

10 Only One Item per Pallet Place pallet in between the two different products. Make sure a corrugated slip-sheet is on top of the first layer to protect the boxes from pallet. Place the heavier of the two parts on the bottom layer to keep from crushing boxes If there is more than one part on a pallet, clearly mark the skid Mixed Skid so it is easily identified. Do not mix products on a pallet. If the quantity of product is only a few layers of boxes, use a pallet to divide them. Follow the double stack packing instruction to ensure boxes do not get crushed.

11 Double Stacked Pallets > 1000 lbs. On skids/pallets >1000 lbs, only stack 3 high if the pallet is a heavy duty pallet and is strong enough to safely stack. ½ x 1 wood grid divider. ½ x 3 wood corners running the full height on all four corners Upper Pallet cannot exceed 3000 lbs. Pallets shall be stacked evenly to ensure all edge supports line up. Lower Pallet cannot exceed 3000 lbs. Use heavy duty pallet design Total weight of both skids cannot exceed 6000 lbs. Double Stacked Pallets < 1000 lbs.

12 Upper Pallet cannot exceed 1000 lbs. Ensure pallets are of similar size to keep the stack stable. Pallets may be double stacked as long as the top pallet will not crush any of the boxes on the lower pallet in transit. Lower Pallet does not Exceed 3000 lbs. Use standard duty pallet if the above skids are <1000 lbs. Use heavy duty pallet if the above skids are >1000 lbs.
