1 European Computer Driving Licence Improving Productivity using IT Level 2 Syllabus Version 5.0 Scenario A2 Practice Assignment This exercise is divided into two parts. You must complete the Performance part before the Knowledge part. You Must read through the whole assignment before starting. You Must complete this exercise within one hour. In the Performance part of the test, you will carry out tasks based on a scenario using an application of your choice. The pass mark for this part of the test is 75% and it is recommended you allow approximately 45 minutes to complete. In the Knowledge part of the test, you will answer some questions, which relate to the work you did in the performance part. There are 12 tasks in this section of the test. The pass mark for this part of the test is 75% and it is recommended you allow approximately 15 minutes to complete. Part 1 - Performance You are employed as a hospital administrator and have been asked by your manager to amend a letter asking staff to volunteer taking part in a fundraising day. The names and addresses you will need to refer to are stored in another file. The letters to the staff should be produced as an electronic file only and not printed. You have 45 minutes to complete the work. Whilst data is presented to you in different formats, you should choose the most suitable application for the task. The choice of application should also reflect the most productive use of IT. Consider the IT experience of the users who will view the files; not all employees who access the data have the same skills as yourself. Ensure the data is presented consistently. Read through the scenario assignment. Ensure that the correct application is used and that the intended data is used. 2 During this assignment you will be expected to: Insert an image Insert text Merge documents Insert & delete a page break Change margins Find & replace text Resize & delete object Change case Merge two membership lists These three files are needed for this assignment St Anne s Hospital Ward List Ward 2 Open the Ward List & Ward 2 List. Using copy & paste merge together the two lists. Copy all text from Ward 2 List & merge with Ward List. Insert the following records into the list o Jonathan Hobbs Ward 2 o Henry fern Ward 2 Apply underline, bold & Italic to the title row. Insert a page break under the List. Save as Joint Ward & close all documents. Open the St Anne s Hospital Document from your learner drive. Save the file as St Anne s adding your initials at the end e.g. St Anne s TP. Delete the page break in this document. Insert the following to the end of the bulleted list. o Egg and Spoon Race o Sponsored Pancake Flip o Balloon Race Using the replace facility change all occurrences of the word Department to Dept. 3 Amend the title of the document to upper case. Change the orientation of the document to landscape & amend top & bottom margins only to 3 cm. Delete the dragon image at the bottom of the document. Insert the clown image from your learner drive & amend the size to 4.02 x 4.02 & reposition it to the top right of the document. Select the text from Further ideas.to which was 5,485 and apply 6pts paragraph spacing before & after. Check the document for spelling errors using the appropriate application. Save document using same filename. Replace the address at the bottom of the document with mail merge fields. The data source needed is Joint Ward. Save the letter as preview to your Learner Drive.
