2 A reliable and accessible computer tuned to the technical requirements listed on the Digital Learning Center website Fast Internet access (DSL or better) An active account Activate your Casper College Student Login using your Casper College username and password MyCC is the official mode of communication for Casper College students Have textbooks and other required materials Be able to communicate effectively with your instructors and peers Be self motivated and self disciplined Schedule 3 5 hours for each credit per week. Check your class daily Be willing and able to commit to approximately 3 5 hours per week for a 3 credit course Online learning is more flexible than the traditional face to face educational delivery and it requires that you set a daily study schedule for successful completion Check course content daily (especially messages and announcements) and submit work on time Accept critical thinking and decision making as part of the learning process The learning process requires you to make decisions based on facts as well as experience. Assimilating information and executing the right decisions requires critical thinking 2

3 Internet or Online Delivery These courses (identified as N1, N2, etc.) are offered online over the Internet. All courses follow a schedule, are NOT self paced and are provided via Moodle Hybrid Course Delivery These courses (identified as H1, H2, etc. etc.) may consist of an internet component that replaces part of an on campus lecture course or they may contain an oncampus/online lab component Web enhanced Course Delivery These courses (usually listed at 01, 02, 060, etc.) are face to face courses that have an online component. You may be asked to retrieve materials, take quizzes, participate in discussions, or submit assignments online. 5 Moodle4Me is the user friendly interface for online, hybrid or webenhanced courses at Casper College Moodle4Me allows you to edit your public profile, send messages to your instructors and peers, submit assignments and quizzes, and fully connect with your online environment To access a class, log in ( and then click on the name of the course If you do not have your username and password, contact the IT helpdesk at or at [email protected]. 6 Click on the course name to access the online classroom Click to connect to online tutors Click to update profile Click to communicate to your instructor and classmates The top of the page contains all the important information about your class. This includes, Course Syllabus, Calendars, Netiquette, etc. It is important for you to check these. These are blocks, some of them may have been docked. You can either undock or use your mouse to hover over a block on the left side 6
