Armstrong 'Siena' 2.2 COMPONENTS A. Cabinet Construction: Softwood lumber framing B. Counter Top: post formed plastic laminate over particleboard w/ low profile C. Bolts, Nuts, Washers and Screws: Of size and type to suit application. D. Concealed Joint Fasteners; Threaded steel. 2.3 FABRICATION A. Shop assemble casework for delivery to site in units easily handled and permit passage through building openings. B. Fabricate corners and joints without gaps or inaccessible spaces or areas where dirt or moisture could accumulate. C. Fabricate each unit rigid, not dependent on building structure or adjacent unit for rigidity. D. Form edges smooth. Form material for counter tops, facing, and shelves for continuous sheets. E. Provide cutouts for plumbing fixtures and fittings. Prime paint counter surfaces of cut edges. F. When necessary to cut and fit on site, provide materials with ample allowance for cutting. Provide trim for scribing and site cutting. 2.4 FINISHES Union Studio Architecture & Community Design

3 A. Exposed to View Surfaces: Color and pattern by Architect, to be chosen from Standard color palate. B. Interior Surfaces: Manufacturer's standard cabinet liner. 2.5 PLASTIC LAMINATE A. Manufacturers: 1. Wilsonart 2. Formica 3. Pionite 4. Nevamar. B. Colors: Architect to select from manufacturer's standards. 2.6 MISCELLANEOUS HARDWARE A. Provide the following hardware for adjustable countertops in handicap units. 1. Manufacturer: E-Z Shelving Systems; or approved equal. 2. Model : E-Z uprights for wall mounting with E-ZB Brackets; complete with additional hardware and accessories. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION A. Verify adequacy of support framing. 3.2 INSTALLATION A. Install casework, components and accessories in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. B. Use anchoring devices to suit conditions and substrate materials encountered. C. Set casework items plumb and square, securely anchored to building structure. D. Carefully scribe casework abutting other components, with maximum gaps of 1/32 inch. Use filler strips not additional overlay trim for this purpose. E. Close ends of units, back splashes, shelves and bases. F. Sequence installation to ensure utility connections are achieved in an orderly and expeditious manner. 4 3.3 ADJUSTING A. Adjust doors, drawers, hardware, fixtures, and other moving or operating parts to function smoothly and align properly. B. Install adjustable countertop hardware to allow counter height adjustment of 32 to 36 inches above finish floor. Provide finish edge at all adjacent cabinets and countertops. 3.4 CLEANING A. Clean casework, counters, shelves and hardware. 3.5 PROTECTION OF FINISHED WORK A. Do not permit finished casework to be exposed to continued construction activity. 3.6 SCHEDULES A. See Drawings for kitchen and bathroom layouts. B. All cabinetry at unit #1 shall meet ADA requirements. Final kitchen design to be approved by architect through shop drawing submittals. 5 SECTION WINDOW TREATMENT PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 SECTION INCLUDES: A. Horizontal aluminum mini-blinds and operating hardware. 1.2 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION: A. Horizontal aluminum mini-blinds installed at all windows; manual control of raising and lowering by cord for full range; blade angle adjustable by control wand. 1.3 SUBMITTALS: A. Product Data: Submit product literature and installation instructions. B. Shop drawings: Indicate field-measured dimensions of opening which are to receive blinds, details on mounting surface and sill conditions, and details of corners and conditions between adjacent blinds. C. Samples: Submit a sample of each type and color of material specified. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 HORIZONTAL ALUMINUM MINI-BLIND: A. Product: Acceptable product: 1 aluminum mini-blind as manufactured by Levolor Home Fashions, or approved equal. B. Head Rail:.025" thick Tomized steel, U-shaped, 3/4" high x 1 3/16" wide. All hardware enclosed in the headrail. C. Guardian Tilter:.031" thick Tomized steel housing with a self-lubricating nylon, automatically disengaging worm and gear mechanism to eliminate overdrive. D. Tilt Wand: Solid, transparent with a hexagonal cross-section 5/16" across flats. E. Cord Lock:.031" thick Tomized steel and shall be crashproof. F. Drums & Cradles: Provided with each ladder. 6 G. Installation Brackets:.042" thick Tomized steel with a rivet-hinged safety locking front cover to permit removal of headrail without lateral movements. H. Ladders (slat supports): Distance between slats does not exceed 21.5 mm (nominally 14.2 slats per vertical foot). I. Slats: 5000 series magnesium aluminum alloy which includes recycled aluminum material. Slats are nominally 1" wide and the thickness of the slats is nominally.0055" or.0060". J. Bottom Rail:.031" thick Tomized steel. 2.2 FINISHES A. Color: As selected by architect and/or owner from manufacturer s standard solid colors. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION AND INSPECTION: A. Window treatment subcontractor shall be responsible for inspection of site, field measurements, and approval of mounting surfaces and installation conditions. B. Subcontractor shall verify that site is free of conditions that interfere with blind installation and operation, and shall begin installation only when any unsatisfactory conditions have been rectified. 3.2 INSTALLATION: A. Install blinds in accordance with manufacturer s specifications, standards, and procedures. B. Provide support brackets as per manufacturer s installation instructions. C. See installation instructions packaged with blinds for more installation details. D. Provide adequate clearance to permit unencumbered operation of blind and hardware. E.
