With this Accessories Kit, you can quickly download sports performance data collected by your Outbreaker watch onto a computer. Keep this manual handy as you use your new product. It contains practical step-by-step instructions, as well as technical specifications and warnings you should know. Outbreaker Software CD-ROM SOFTWARE INSTALLATION CD-ROM PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The PC Kit includes a PC Docking Station and CD-ROM for downloading information to a personal computer. Full instructions for using the software are provided in the online help and can be viewed once you have installed the software. The PC Kit enables you to store and recall most of the information that is collected by your OUTBREAKER watch. You can free up the watch memory to record more information and save important training records. For example, with the PC Kit you can specify which information you want to record in TOUR Mode, and how often the information is recorded (sampling time): By limiting what is recorded, you can keep longer records. This can be useful if you wish to monitor your performance during an extended period such as a two-day hike, where only heart rate and altitude are of concern, or a day of cycling, where only speed and distance are important to you. You can also use the PC Hook-up Kit to set values on the watch through the PC. A full list of options is given at the end of this section. 2

3 Hardware/software requirements are listed in the PC Requirements section. 4. Slide the Mounting Clip Release Button on the Docking Station to release the Mounting Clip. Fully extend the clip to the right. PC MODE SET UP To use the features of the PC Mode, you will need the PC Kit (includes PC docking station, connector cable, and the installation software CD-ROM), and a PC or laptop computer. To set up for PC Mode: 1. Connect the PC Docking Station to your computer. For best results, turn the computer off before you connect. 2. Install the software using the CD-ROM (firsttime use only). The process is automatic, and requires you to respond to self-explanatory prompts. Once the software is installed, an Oregon Scientific icon will be placed on your desktop. 3. Press MODE on the watch to switch to PC Mode. 5. Insert the watch, taking care to align the connection points on the Docking Station and back of the watch. 3

4 6. Close the Mounting Clip. Gently press down to lock the watch into place. DOWNLOAD DATA Once you have connected the watch to the Docking Station and switched into PC Mode, you can download data anytime. 1. Setup for PC Mode following the instructions on page Click on the Outbreaker icon on your desktop to open the software. 3. Click OK to close the Website Download window 4. Select Communication Connect from the main menu. SOFTWARE TIPS AND HELP For tips on using the software, select Help Contents from the main menu, or click Help from any window. 5. A Connection Status window will display. Click Close to exit it once the connection has been made. If Time Out is shown, try switching your watch into PC Mode (press MODE repeatedly to do this), or check the RS232 cable connection. 6. Select Communication Read Trip Data from the main menu. A Trip Data window will display 7. Click Read Data to download stored data from the watch. 4

5 8. Highlight the Tour you wish to work with (Tour 1, Tour 2, etc.). 9. Click Format Data. 10. Enter the file name in the prompt that displays, then click OK. 11. Once the download is complete, select the type of report you wish to view. For tips on viewing, editing, and printing Trip Data, access the Trip section in the Help menu. PC MODE OPTIONS You can perform the following tasks with the Outbreaker Software: ACCESS WATCH DATA All information recorded in TOUR Mode, including temperature, altitude, local pressure, heart rate, wheel speed, cadence, trip distance, etc, [Provided this data has been selected in Data should be stored in the Configuration menu (see software help menu)]. Back up/import and export data Define user data & password control Display graphical chart and print table Give data overview with a specified duration CHANGE WATCH SETTINGS Date and time (set to PC time, or a manual setting) Time, and event alarm (3 event alarms, 1 daily alarm, and select alarm duration) Current sea-level pressure Altitude level, Altitude limits, alarm and variation sensitivity Weather icon 5 different Upper and lower heart rate limits for Training Zones 2 different Wheel circumference/diameter TOUR Mode data recording and download options Choose a serial port (Com 1 - Com 4) Sampling rate (1 240 seconds) To send all selected settings and preferences to the watch, select Communication Transfer Configuration from the main menu.
