1 How to View Digital Copy of Your DVD/BD s on a TV or Mobile Device This guide will explain how to create a digital copy of a DVD/BD disc, and how to play the digital copy on TV's and mobile devices. 1. Rip a DVD/BD to a DVD/Blu-ray folder or an ISO image file 1.1 Download and install DVDFab 1.2 Load in the source disc for copy/backup 1.3 Change settings to customize backup 1.4 Specify the output media and directory 1.5 Start copy 2. Rip a DVD/BD to a DVD/Blu-ray folder or an ISO image file 1.1 Download and install DVDFab Download and install the latest version of DVDFab onto your computer. After the installation, run DVDFab. You will be prompted to activate DVDFab or to use the trial version. Select Try and you can use the free trial for 30 days with complete functions and features. 1.2 Load in the source disc for copy/backup On the main interface of DVDFab, choose the Copy option to enable the software to copy DVD and Blu-ray discs.

2 Insert the DVD disc or Blu-ray disc into the optical drive. Note: If the source is a Blu-ray disc, you need to use a Blu-ray drive. And if you re using an external drive, please mount it to the computer before loading the source. After several seconds, the source will be imported with the longest movie title selected by default. 3 1.3 Change settings to customize backup Basic settings on the main interface Hover the mouse over the Chapter area to change the first and last chapter, through which you can arrange the title for backup. Hover the mouse over the Audio or Subtitle area to select other audio tracks or subtitles.

4 To preview the effect of these settings in real time, click the Preview button. To copy other titles instead, click the Other Titles option.

5 1.3.2 Advanced settings Click the Advanced Settings button on the left panel of the interface for professional editing options. Otherwise, the default settings will work well for most users. For the DVD source in this case, we are choosing to copy the DVD-Video content or non-dvd files, and set loop mode for playback. For the Blu-ray source in this case, we are choosing to remove HD audio or convert DTS/LPCM Audio to AC3.

6 1.4 Specify the output media and directory Output media/size On the left panel of the main interface, specify the output media. For the DVD source, the output media can be DVD5 or DVD9. For the BD source, the output media can be BD50, BD25, BD9 or BD5. Note: When BD9 or BD5 is selected, the output can be compromised by being forced to fit to the size of a DVD9 or DVD5. Though in Blu-ray format the Blu-ray backup file will only be played using a Blu-ray player so file

7 quality should not be compromised. When compressing files, the compression ratio appears just under the Output option Output directory/type In this tutorial, we are going to save the output as a movie folder or an ISO image file on the hard drive of a computer. First, we need to specify a folder or an ISO directory. As shown below, click the arrow button to bring up a list of default directories for folders, image files and drives for burning discs, among which we will choose the directory for the folder or the image file. If you are not satisfied with the default directory, please click on the folder icon or the image file icon to the right of the list, then specify a new directory.

8 1.5 Start copy Now that everything is set up, press the Start button on the main interface to start copying. During the process, detailed progress info can be viewed, and the computer can be set to sleep, shut down or exit the program when all tasks are completed.

Watching movies is over; get ready to experience movies with the VidOn Box. 2.2 Add new sources to the video and movie library on the VidOn Box To view the DVD/Blu-ray folder and ISO files on TV, first add them to VidOn Box library. From the VidOn Box home screen select the VidOn XBMC app. Navigate to the Videos tab and select Files.

10 Select Add Videos... The Add Sources screen will now appear. If you know the file path of the folder you wish to add enter it in the text box provided, otherwise select Browse to find the appropriate folder.

11 A list of compatible local devices will appear, including SMB, NAS AND UPnP devices, servers and PC's. Select the appropriate device. Navigate to the folder with the video content to be added. Choose the appropriate folder and select OK.

12 The Add Video Sources screen will now appear with the selected folder path shown in the text box. Select OK. The Set Content menu will now appear. Select any additional relevant options or simply select OK.

13 The new video source will now appear in the list on the Files screen. As well, the newly added video content will now appear in the library.

14 2.3 Play and enjoy Selecting any of the options under Movies will bring you to a fully customizable library interface. Once a movie is selected you will be prompted with the Select playback item screen. Selecting Play main title will begin to play the movie immediately. Selecting Select from all titles will allow you to resume a movie were you last left off. Selecting Show Blu-ray menus will allow you to access and utilize any menu options the movie file may have. This is specifically for use with ISO and Blu-ray folder files.

Open the VidOn Server on your PC; the Media Library Management screen will open in your default browser Select Add.

17 The Add a Library screen will appear. Select what type of media you would like to import to the VidOn Server: Selecting Automatic Categorization allows you to choose a folder with mixed media files, such as movies, TV shows, videos and images. The VidOn Player will then recognize the files and attempt to sort them accordingly. Selecting Movie allows you to select files that will be categorized as movies on the VidOn Server and VidOn Player. Relevant information including movies posters, plot summaries and cast lists will then be added by the VidOn Server. Selecting TV show allows you to select files that will be categorized as TV shows on the VidOn Server and VidOn Player. Relevant information including posters, plot summaries and cast lists will then be added as details by the VidOn Server. Selecting Home Videos allows you to select unsorted/unnamed files that will not be categorized any further, nor will the VidOn Server attempt a search for relevant information

18 pertaining to that file. Any video files that you upload which the VidOn Server does not recognize will be put in this category. Selecting Image allows you to upload photographs to the VidOn Server. To add movie and video content choose either Automatic Categorization, Movie, TV show or Home Videos and select Next. A screen will appear in which to select a directory for the folder you wish to add. Navigate to the appropriate folder and select Next.

19 A screen will appear asking you to rename the file for inclusion in the VidOn Server, you may also choose to keep the original file name; when finished select Save. The selected folder will now appear on the VidOn Server's Media Library Management screen 3.3 Viewing content on a mobile device Download and install the official VidOn Player on your phone or tablet here: VidOn Player app for Android and ios.

20 Connect your phone or tablet and PC with the VidOn Server to the same WLAN or WIFI connection. Open the VidOn Player App and navigate to the Home Sharing screen either by swiping your screen or selecting that option at the top of the screen. To add the VidOn Server on your PC select the + symbol in the upper right hand corner of the app, and then select VidOn Server.

21 The Server Info screen will appear prompting you for the Server Address and Port. This information can be found on the VidOn Server on your PC by selecting the option Server Settings at the top of the VidOn Server window, then selecting Server Status on the left side of the window. You will need to use the Server IP and WEB Port Number found on this page to access your VidOn Server.

22 Enter the information into the VidOn Player and select Save. You will be brought back to the Home Sharing screen which will now display your VidOn Server. Select the VidOn Server. Navigate to the movie, TV show or video you wish to view or download.
