The aim is to have each student produce professional, polished writing appropriate for the job. At the end of this course each student will be assessed on their progress and receive a certificate if they meet the aim of the course goals. In order to accomplish this aim, the course will cover: writing to various audiences and for various purposes; writing investigative reports, specifically employee relations and incident reports; observational, assessment, descriptive, and argumentative writing; drafting, designing, revising, and editing writing; writing collaboratively (e.g., co-authorship, peer editing); formatting, grammar, and organization.
