Students earn an AAS from Hennepin Tech, and then participate in a Bachelor's Completion program at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Admission Requirements: An audition and interview are required at the beginning of the student's studies at Minnesota State, Mankato. Advising: You are expected to meet with your advisor on a regular basis to ensure courses are taken in an order that will lead to successful completion of the degree. This map presumes that students begin their studies at Hennepin Tech, and then transfer to Minnesota State, Mankato, to complete the program. However, some students may start in Mankato, then go to Hennepin to pursue the AAS degree there. It is important to work with an advisor on both campuses to complete this program. 60 credits transfer from Hennepin Tech to Minnesota State, Mankato, including 16 credits of General Education courses. A total of 16 credits of courses taken at Hennepin Tech are accepted as equivalents to upper division courses in Mankato. 16 credits of General Education courses are earned at Hennepin Tech. Students transferring to Minnesota State, Mankato, with an AAS are required to take an additional 24 credits in General Education, with one course in each of the Goal Areas 1A, 1B, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Goal Areas 1A, 1B, 4, 5, and 9 are met by courses at Hennepin Tech. Goal Areas 3, 6, 7, 8, and 10 will be met by courses at Minnesota State, Mankato. Students transferring to Minnesota State University, Mankato, with 30 or more credits will receive 3 credits toward the Writing Intensive requirement at Minnesota State, Mankato. Those at Hennepin Tech normally focus on audio production. This internship normally has a stronger focus on business. Most students choose to complete the internship during the summer following the 8th term. PROGRAM NOTES As a degree offered jointly by Hennepin Technical College and Minnesota State University, Mankato, this is based upon an articulation agreement that is currently posted on the MnSCU Transferology web site. That articulation requires the student to complete the AAS degree in Audio Production. Students transferring with an AAS have a different General Education requirement, and have different requirements for Diverse Cultures and Writing Intensive courses.
