2 CORPORATE CATALOGUE ABOUT HANDS Hands Across the Water is an Australian, New Zealand and Thai charity that gives at-risk Thai children and their communities a helping hand. Our projects are tailored to meet local communities needs for the long term. Initially founded by former Australian police forensic specialist, Peter Baines OAM, to support Thai children who had been left orphaned by the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami, Hands now supports hundreds of at-risk children in seven homes across Thailand. Underpinning all of Hands strategies and projects are the best interests of the inspiring children we support. ABOUT OUR SEWING ROOMS As part of our sustainability program, Hands operates two sewing rooms in Thailand. Our original sewing room is located adjacent to our Baan Tharn Namchai home in Khao Lak, just over an hour north of Phuket. Established in 2015, our second sewing room is in Khlong Toei in Bangkok and employs women who live in Khlong Toei, which is the country s largest slum area. Profits generated by our sewing rooms are directed back into the costs of the seven homes funded by Hands. WHY ORDER WITH HANDS?
