2 Executive Summary To conclude my entire project up Publix looks like a chain that is on the rise for many years to come. Publix keeps there company employee owned and operated which motivates employees to do there very best each and every day. Publix has rising stock prices which helps show that the company is only moving forward and up as a company. Publix is family organized to make your shopping experience the best of the best, there excellent customer service keeps people coming back for more. Qualifications include extensive business experience serving as an Officer of the Company for 20 years and on the Board of the Company for 20 years. (2010) Publix Super Markets, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiaries that are in the primary business of operating retail food supermarkets in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee. The Company was founded in 1930 and later merged into another corporation that was originally incorporated in The southeastern United States is the main geographical area of activity in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee.
4 Audit Report. The firm of KPMG LLP was the Company s independent registered public accounting firm during The Audit Committee will make its recommendation to the Board of Directors as to the Company s independent registered public accounting firm for 2011 later this year. KPMG LLP conducts their audits in accordance with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. They concluded that the consolidated financial statements of Publix Supermarkets, Inc. was fair and complies with the U.S. generally accepted accounting principles.
5 Stock Market Info. The Publix 2011 dividend is 53 cents per share, and will be payable and mailed to shareholders June 1, Considering that I am an employee of Publix, I personally will continue on buying stock and hold on to it. I don t plan on selling because I feel that this investment will continue to grow as Publix continues to branch out and prosper. Publix is the Largest employees-owned retail grocery chain in the United States. Publix stock is only available for sale to eligible active employees and nonemployee members of its Board of Directors. Publix is owned by more than 95,000 stockholders and more than 111,000 participants of its Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Current Stock Price: $22.05 per share (Effective August 1, 2011)
6 Industry Situation and Company Plan. Publix sets out to sharpen the company s focus through strong team structure, continuous quality improvement, project management, and process improvement. The business plan serves as the roadmap to help ensure the future growth and competitiveness of our company. Publix develops its own annual business plan which includes key strategies and initiatives to enable this business to achieve their growth objectives. Being an employee of Publix I see first hand each and everyday how they attempt to improve as a company. We recently adapted to a new program called the Oasis system. It was created to maximize Publix profits and time management by breaking down each shift for every employee and assigning them to do specific jobs during every hour. 7 Income Statement. Publix utilizes a Multi- step income statement. After comparing the last two years we conclude that they have consistently increased in all three areas. Publix has continued to increase in gross profit and net earnings over the past three years. This proves that they are improving as a company.

9 Balance Sheet Continued Assets= Liabilities + Stockholders Equity Overall regarding each account they all increased. Assets increased by $428,650 Liabilities increased by $125,992 Stockholders Equity increased by $1,002,054 Stockholders Equity changed the most out of the three with almost an increase of 1 million dollars.
10 Statement of Cash Flow. Regarding cash flow from operations they are more then net income over the past two years. Publix does seem to be growing from investing activities. Publix s primary source of financing occurs from stock sales. Overall cash has increased over the past two years.
11 Accounting Policies. Summary of Significant Accounting Policies Business: Publix operates in FL, GA, AL, SC, TN, and was established in For the fiscal years sales from all other lines of business combined represent less than 5% of the total Company sales. The fiscal year ends on the last Saturday in December. Fiscal years included 52 weeks. All of the liquid investments with maturities of 3 months or less are considered cash equivalents. The Publix inventories are valued at lower of cost in the marketplace. If Publix used the FIFO method to value all the inventories and current assets it would have been higher than December 2010 and 2011, which were both more than 250,000,000.
