Water System

Choosing and Investing in the Right Water System Property owners and consumers must consider many factors when choosing the right water treatment system. Their decisions are driven by challenging groundwater, hydrogen sulfide odours, aging water infrastructure, dirty water pipes, health focus and the growing eco-friendly trend away from chlorine. SanEcoTec Ltd. is focusing on the introduction of the SanEcoTec Water System in North America and will work closely with your dealer to deliver clean water for the 21st Century. This technology has been delivering cleaner and safer drinking water since The SanEcoTec Water System is available for installation and annual service in your area only through authorized local dealers. The SanEcoTec Water System is the most efficient, reliable, high quality, cost effective, and green solution available today. The information that our team will provide will help you in making an informed purchase decision. Highlights & Unique Benefits Delivering outstanding water quality throughout your entire home (all taps). Removing completely all chlorine as well as the related taste & smell. Preventing the formation of potentially harmful disinfection by-products. Protecting both water and water pipes from bio-film contamination. Integrating easily with other water conditioning equipment. Offering health sustaining water by adding much needed oxygen. Supporting a healthy environment, adding oxygen into rivers and lakes.

Delivering Outstanding Water Quality The Health Benefits of Hydrogen Peroxide Hydrogen Peroxide is a natural substance produced by the body. The ability of human cells to produce hydrogen peroxide is essential for life. H 2 O 2 is not an undesirable by-product or toxin. It is, instead, a basic requirement for good health. Newer research indicates that humans use hydrogen peroxide for a multitude of chemical reactions taking place in the body. For example, it is now known that Vitamin C helps fight infections by producing hydrogen peroxide. Lactobacillus, found in the colon, produces hydrogen peroxide, combating harmful bacteria and viruses, preventing colon disease, bladder infections and a host of other common ailments. Hydrogen peroxide is one of the many components that help regulate the amount of oxygen getting into cells. Its presence is known to be vital for many other functions, like the production of thyroid and sexual hormones, the dilation of blood vessels in the heart and brain and the improvement of glucose utilization in diabetics. Oxidation Potential of Hydrogen Peroxide Oxygen is the most essential element of life. When there is not enough oxygen available in the body, detoxification slows down, circulation becomes sluggish and oxygen cannot reach the cells. If oxygen levels fall below 40% the cell begins to ferment sugar instead of burning it. Fermentation produces only 1/6th the energy of oxidation. Hydrogen peroxide has a high oxidation potential and can help to maintain a sufficient oxygen level in the body.

Clean Water and Biofilm Contamination What happens inside a water pipe? Biofilm develops inside water pipe in six weeks Microbes harbour in biofilm A dirty pipe puts your drinking water quality at risk of contamination Biofilm produces contamination in water piping, negatively affecting water health. The SanEcoTec Water System allows clean and oxygenated water to circulate throughout the distribution network. As part of the initial installation, an elevated dosage is used to clean the internal surfaces of the piping network, eliminating biofilm; continuous dosing prevents recontamination. Disinfection By-Products When chlorine reacts with natural organic matter in the source water, disinfection by-products (DBPs) are formed. Over the last 10 years, a growing body of research has confirmed that DBPs are among the worst toxins found in tap and bottled water. Exposure is not just through drinking but also via cooking and showering. A review of DBP health effects found that nearly thirty peer-reviewed epidemiologic studies linked these by-products to increased risks of cancer, including many cases of bladder cancer. DBP exposure may also be associated with miscarriages or low birth weight, a public health risk under current investigation. Additional health problems from DBP exposure may include rectal and colon cancers, kidney and spleen disorders, immune system problems and neurotoxic effects. Two primary DBP categories are trihalomethanes (THM s) and haloacetic acids (HAA s). These DBPs have been linked to damaging effects to heart, lung, kidney and central nervous system as well as an increased risk of cancer. HAA s are genotoxic and carcinogenic and can produce significant metabolic disturbances. Other derivatives, such as chloramines and chlorine dioxide were found to have other DBPs, not so well known, but potentially even more harmful. THM s have been shown to cause cancer in laboratory animals, and are therefore classified as Cancer Group B carcinogens. The legal limit of THM s in drinking water in Canada and the USA is between ppb, which represents a compromise between public health and increased water treatment costs needed for lowering THM levels in municipal water. This limit still equates to bladder cancer cases nationwide from people ingesting THM s in drinking water. Various THM s are also detected in several brands of bottled water, at values two to three times greater than the bottled water industry s voluntary standard of 10 ppb.

What about Well Water? In optimal conditions, groundwater near homes should be safe to drink. Unfortunately, the potential risk of contaminated groundwater has become a real issue. Urban growth, aging sewage and water treatment infrastructure may contaminate groundwater. In addition, there are a large and growing number of toxic chemicals used in industry and agriculture that are sometimes carried into the groundwater. Testing of the water only provides a temporary indication of that water s quality. Another common nuisance is the presence of hydrogen sulfide in the water. Hydrogen sulfide is a colourless, poisonous gas which gives the water an unpleasant rotten egg odour, making it unsuitable to drink. It is often caused by sulfur or iron reducing bacteria. Huwa-San Peroxide will help resolve a hydrogen sulfide problem and also help ensure microbiologically clean drinking water. What is NSF Certification? NSF is the National Sanitation Foundation - Standard 60 is the certification for all products allowed to be used in drinking water in Canada and the US. The NSF certification that allowed Huwa-San DW peroxide to be residual in drinking water was obtained after a 2 year in-depth toxicological review that involved some of the world s top toxicologists, including Health Canada and EPA.

Delivering Outstanding Water Quality A New Generation of Hydrogen Peroxide Hydrogen peroxide is a health and eco-sustainable product. The unique qualities of Huwa-San DW hydrogen peroxide are its superior efficacy, stability and residual protection from post and cross contamination which regular food grade peroxide doesn t have. Yet, like regular food grade peroxide, it is 100% biodegradable. Huwa- San DW hydrogen peroxide is the first NSF certified residual hydrogen peroxide in North America. The effect of 0.5% hydrogen peroxide and 0.5% Huwa-San on S. aureus ATCC % v/v H 2O 2 0.2% v/v H 2O 2 + Ag - complex The effect of 0.2% hydrogen peroxide and 0.2% Huwa-San on S. typhimurium ATCC % v/v H 2O 2 0.2% v/v H 2O 2 + Ag - complex Log reduction Log reduction Contact Time (hours) Figure 1: The bactericidal effect of 0.5% hydrogen peroxide and 0.5% Huwa-San against S. aureus in standard use conditions. Contact Time (hours) Figure 2: The bactericidal effect of 0.2% hydrogen peroxide and 0.2% Huwa-San against S. typhimurium in standard use conditions. The graphs above show how Huwa-San DW can kill % of Staphylococcus Bacteria in less than an hour at 0.5% peroxide and how regular food grade peroxide can only kill 90% of bacteria over 24 hours. The second graph shows how Huwa-San DW can kill % of Salmonella bacteria in less than an hour and regular food grade peroxide can only kill 50% of the bacteria over 24 hours. This proves that Huwa-San DW food grade hydrogen peroxide is up to 100,000 more effective than regular food grade hydrogen peroxide.

Installation & Service The SanEcoTec Water System is installed and serviced by qualified and trained local dealers. The system includes a high quality injection system which ensures that the correct amount of Huwa- San DW Peroxide is delivered to your water supply. The system fits well with existing water conditioning systems including water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, and ultra violet lamps. Two Simple Steps to Clean Water: 1. Clean-Out Contamination grows on the inner surfaces of virtually all piping systems and is nearly impossible to eradicate with conventional chemicals. Clean-out of the whole system with a higher dosage is the best option to clean all outlets. On average, a dwell time of 2-4 hours, followed by flushing, will remove the contamination from the water distribution system. SanEcoTec Water System Control Panel * *Actual installation may vary per site 2. Continuous Dosing After clean-out of the pipe network, keeping the water clean on a constant basis is recommended to prevent new contamination from entering your home. Continual protection is ensured with a minute residual to 3-8mg/L at the tap. This is accomplished with a small dosing pump and a flow meter which sends the correct amount of peroxide into your water supply.
