Aker Kvaerner MH red equipment is installed on more than 300 rigs, at a total value of more than approx. 5 billion USD, world wide. 9 Overhaul and modification Hva har vi gjort: Alle fabrikasjonsverksteder for nytt utstyr til nye prosjekter er fra 2008 også prefererte overhalingsfasiliteter. I tillegg har vi avtaler på overhalingskapasitet i Danmark. En felles plan for overhalinger og produksjon er etablert. Kjøpt leverandør for kritisk utstyr. Spekulert i innkjøp av long lead. Økt fokus på byttekomponenter og utstyr. Er i ferd med å kjøpe selskap med RMC- simulator- og engineerings kompetanse. Økt lagerbeholdning i Stavanger med 100%. Slide 9

29 Product Development Portfolio FEASIBILITY & CONCEPT SYSTEM DEFINITION DETAILING & FABRICATION PROTOTYPE TESTING Product development projects in the Detailing and Fabrication Phase PRODUCTION MODEL Next generation washpipe The connecting part between the rotating shaft and the stationary mudpipe on every topdrive Current AKMH design has a lifetime of 400 hrs +/-350h New design developed by AKMH together with John Crane in UK has a target lifetime of 3000 hrs (one year+ drilling) Design is undergoing final laboratory tests prior to offshore test. Design ready for rig testing 2008 at current project pace Results so far according to lifetime expectations. Target clients: Retrofit to most topdrives, AKMH as well as competitors Slide 29

Operating goals - Reduce costly well problems - Lost circulating, reduction by 30% - Back reaming problems, reduction (stuck pipe, etc.) by 20% - Kick situations, reduction by 20% PRODUCTION MODEL Equipment, wells and reservoirs can be monitored in real time while drilling. This project is a joint venture between HPD, Sintef, First Interactive and AKMH. Target Clients: Rigs and onshore operations centres Slide 30
