Teachers will learn how to login to TAM, take attendance, and download necessary software. Security policies will also be discussed. NCWISE TAM Gradebook Teachers will learn how to set up grade book options, preps, assignments and post grades. NCWISE TAM Reports Teachers will learn how to create progress reports, class rosters, sort students and how to use other helpful features. First Class Basics Participants will learn how to get logged in to First Class at work and home. They will also learn how to set up preferences, change passwords, send/reply to , and send attachments. First Class Intermediate Participants will learn how to manage contacts, use FC Calendars, and create mail/file storage folders. First Class Advanced Participants will learn how to use the Teacher Collaboration area, different folder views, advanced calendar features, and other helpful features as well as monitor storage space.

Technology Renewal Credit Rutherford County Schools believes technology should become an integral part of how the classroom functions. These courses are geared toward teaching participants a more student-centered approach to the integration of technology in their curriculum. A student-centered approach to integrating technology goes far beyond using computers to supplement a lesson in the form of a presentation or word processing software such as PowerPoint or Word. When teachers effectively integrate technology into their classroom practice, learners are empowered to be actively engaged in their learning. Classroom Performance System The CPS student response pads or "clickers" are small, handheld devices that allow students to respond to questions asked verbally, on paper or on screen and enables teachers to instantly assess student comprehension of lessons. Web Design program Come let us show you the exciting new way to create and maintain your own classroom webpage. Help keep your students and parents up to date on what's going on in your classroom. (To be taught once SharpSchool is implemented.) Podcasting Use podcasts to create talk shows, interviews, story telling, tutorials, directions, commentaries, sportscasts, etc. to enhance the curriculum and motivate students. Participants will explore Audacity, RSS feeds and a variety of other tools and software to bring the curriculum to life. Make creating an audio recording a valuable and crosscurricular experience for students. (To be taught once SharpSchool is implemented.)

Blogs and Forums Learn the difference between participation in a discussion forum and blogging. Forums are used to communicate, interact and collaborate with others (examples include discussions, chat rooms, messaging windows, calendars). Forums save responses posted on a particular topic for other people to see and respond to at any time, creating a discussion environment. Blogs are defined as collections of articles, ideas, news, facts, opinions or inspirations that are posted on the Internet. They are structured like an individual's journal or diary, organized by category, updated often, and the owner of the blog is able to control the content. (To be taught once SharpSchool is implemented.) Wikis Wikis are simple web pages that groups of teachers and students can edit together. Members of a wiki collaborate to contribute or modify content contained on the site. (To be taught once SharpSchool is implemented.) Activotes With Activstudio and Activote response devices, it s easy to incorporate formative assessment into your lessons. Activstudio s Question Master Wizard is fully integrated, so there is no need to learn another software program for question creation. Instant feedback allows you to change direction mid-lesson, address misunderstandings or review areas where students are struggling. CPS & Study Island Students can access the program by simply logging on to where they will find each topic organized with a lesson, assessment questions, and explanations. The mastery of these topics will help students gain confidence when taking the End-of-Grade (EOG/EOC) tests. Teachers can give a test to an entire class at one time by using the Classroom Performance System Mode in Study Island.

Discovery Education Discover the endless possibilities of using DE streaming content in your classroom. This training will provide you with a variety of integration ideas that include creative ways to use DE streaming for multimedia presentations, digital storytelling projects, learning centers and more! Teachers will learn new strategies and be exposed to a variety of technological tools that can help them better integrate digital media into instruction. Windows Movie Maker Learn how to create home movie masterpieces on your computer using Windows Movie Maker, and how to share them with family and friends. Windows Movie Maker is basic video creating/editing software included in Microsoft Windows. It contains features such as effects, transitions, titles/credits, audio track, timeline narration, and Auto Movie. New effects and transitions can be made and existing ones can be modified using XML code. Microsoft Photostory 3 Change your students' learning experiences by integrating media literacy. Use a series of still or video images combined with a narrated soundtrack to tell a story, provide directions or create tutorials. Use digital storytelling to enhance lessons and motivate students to actively participate in mastering curriculum expectations from various subject areas. Investigate websites such as Flickr and Google video and learn how these sites can be used in conjunction with Microsoft Photo Story 3 for students to add engagement and creativity in their presentations and make learning fun! Elluminate Live! Learn about online conferencing. Elluminate Live! uses a strong communication platform, rich in features, that focuses on collaboration and communication. The Elluminate Live! interface provides unique learning and teaching tools such as the ability to bring in experts who cannot come to the school site or the ability to connect classrooms on opposite ends of the school building for in-depth discussions.

Tech4Learning With Frames students can create animated stories using illustrations they have created with the drawing tools, pictures they have taken with a digital camera, or stop-motion pictures they have captured from a DV or USB camera. Explore lessons and samples to learn how you can integrate Frames into your classroom curriculum. Use Twist to transform ideas into illustrations! Twist helps students easily create vector graphic images and text that scales without losing resolution. Perfect for art projects, designing logos for web sites, creating characters for animation, or creating backgrounds for a multimedia project, Twist brings students imaginations to life. Pixie is exciting creativity software students can use to further their exploration of the world around them. Whether students demonstrate their understanding and knowledge through activities and directed work, or showcase their creativity and imagination with original art and writing, Pixie is the only canvas they need. (Limited based on license availability) Moodle Moodle is an Open Source Course Management System (CMS), also known as a Learning Management System (LMS) or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It has become very popular among educators around the world as a tool for creating online dynamic courses including lessons and assessments which can be accessed by students from anywhere with an Internet connection. i-safe i-safe is a non-profit foundation whose mission is to educate and empower youth to make their Internet experiences safe and responsible. The goal is to educate students on how to avoid dangerous, inappropriate, or unlawful online behavior. i-safe accomplishes this through dynamic K-12 curriculum and community outreach programs to parents, law enforcement, and community leaders. isafe is the curriculum chosen for Internet Safety and by federal legislation must be taught to all students K-12. Document Camera Document cameras, the new Overhead Projectors! Display books, objects, manipulatives, science experiments, and much more with your students. No more crowding around a small table or making endless copies of a one use worksheet. Training covers set up and use of your document camera including software to capture images, annotate over them, and also capture videos of your demonstrations.
