5 What Classes Should I Take When? 4-YEAR SUGGESTED COURSE SEQUENCE The 15 to Finish campaign is designed to encourage students to take a full course load each semester to help them earn their degrees faster. The premise behind 15 to Finish is to promote the completion of 0 credits per year so that a typical bachelor's degree can be completed in 4 years. Below is a suggested Human Development and Family Studies course plan that follows 15 to Finish. However, most of our students find that following this suggested 4-year plan can be tough, which is why we highly recommend coming to advisement every semester. Many of our students complete this degree while employed full- or part-time, with children at home, or have other obligations that allow our HDFS students to benefit from plans different than what is below. Remember, this is only one suggested path to obtaining your degree in HDFS work with your advisor to set out a plan that works for you. ENG 101 MATH 120 (CO2) HDFS 202 Fine Arts Course (CO7) YEAR 1 Fall ENG 102 (CO1, CO) PSY 101 (CO6) HDFS 201 NUTR 121 (CO4L) COM 101, 217, or 29 YEAR 1 - Spring YEAR 2 Fall CH 201 or CH 202 (CO5) SOC 101 (CO6) Natural Science Course (CO4 or CO4L) YEAR 2 - Spring CH 20 (CO5, CO8) HDFS 21 YEAR Fall ENG 21 or ENG HDFS 41 A, B, or C YEAR - Spring HDFS 91 (CO12) HDFS 46 (CO11) YEAR 4 Fall YEAR 4 - Spring HDFS 470 (CO14) HDFS 48 (CO10, CO1) Notes: o *Minor or General Electives MUST include at least one course with the (CO9) designation. Suggested choices for CO9 include: ENV 101, CH 212, EDUC 489, HIST 05, PHIL 244, and PHIL/HIST 480. o **RPE = Required Program Elective
