2 IFED in BRIEF Brief presentation IFED (International Forest and Environmental Development) is an international organization with its headquarter based in Canada. The organization is specialized in forest resources management and climate change mitigation, operating in Canada and other countries. IFED services include: forest management; remote sensing and GIS; biomass and carbon estimation; training and technical assistance, climate change mitigation, REDD+ (Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Forest Degradation), value chain management. IFED maintains an applied research with the universities through the research partner group IFER ( and Queen s university. This research partnership allows IFED to be at the forefront of innovation through applied research which allows to provide to our clients efficient service and the ability to develop as needed innovative, customized research programs. IFED assists governments, private sector clients, national and international NGOs as well as Universities and institutions engaged on sustainable management of natural and forest resources in all steps needed to lower the impacts of climate change in our environment. Mission IFED is dedicated to provide sustainable environmental management of natural resources that align to our client s unique needs to mitigate impacts on climate change. At COP21 in Paris, the world leaders agree on the following: limiting the rise in T to 1.5 C, even if the goal is to stay below 2 C putting in place a green Fund of 100 billion after 2020 financed by rich countries. This amount may be revised upwards a review every 5 years of the achievements to make sure that the reduction pledges are met.
3 Our Values IFED is proud and enjoy living in a performance based workplace. Our values include: Innovation: current, interesting and challenging work Trust: reliable, respected, practical and of the highest integrity Responsiveness: accessible and communicative Safety: a priority in everything we do Teamwork: respectful, passionate, diverse, friendly, fun, flexible and fair Relationships: strong, committed, nurturing, lasting and long term Quality: on time, on budget, accurate and good value Leadership: professional, community and business Our services Our services include: (i) Management of forest resources This service involves : - Forest Inventory - Estimations of carbon stocks and fluxes (ii) Sustainable development This service is divided in two sections : - Training and capacity building - Remote Sensing and GIS (iii) Environmental services These services include : - Biodiversity Conservation - Climate Change Mitigation
4 IFED Publishing IFED Publishing provides the best ideas and information that will help to better understand and protect our environment and create solutions to complex problems. IFED Publishing elevates voices of change that focus attention on sustainable solutions. IFED Publishing will consider manuscripts at the final stage of writing and hence do not require major changes in the content. Our editors and reviewers will refine the content of the manuscript with author s approval so that the final result is clear, strong, and accessible. We accept: Exceptional BSc theses, MSc theses and PhD theses that focus on solutions on our key areas of intervention Original monographs from researchers and professors, proceedings of conferences, etc.
