2 INTRODUCTION ADMISSION International Master s Program in International Studies () at National Chengchi The applicant should bear at least a bachelor s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or University (NCCU), to be established in August 01, aims to bring a broad interdisciplinary and politico-economic-social focus to the understanding and study of contemporary international relations. The Department of Diplomacy, founded in 190, is the only academic department named diplomacy in Taiwan. Its graduates have become leading forces in many aspects of Taiwan s society, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in particular. The Graduate Institute of East Asian Studies, established in 1968, is the most time-honored and well-known program in Taiwan on both mainland China studies and cross-taiwan Strait relations. The Graduate Institute of Russian Studies, founded in 1994, offers interdisciplinary courses and has become a primary source of Russian and Caucasian research in Taiwan. In addition, NCCU College of International Affairs is collaborating with such colleges as College of Communication, College of Commerce, College of Social Sciences, as well as College of Law to develop various programs aimed at helping students with their future career needs. There are 0 full-time faculty members and several visiting professors in College of International Affairs. Among these full-time faculty members, 90% of them hold foreign degrees. College faculty sometimes accept government service assignments, sometimes serve as principal officers in private foundations and think tanks, and sometimes are appointed to University s deans and administrative officers.
