Matthew 28:18 20 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [19] Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." What We Must Re learn About Discipleship It s Not Easy. It s Not Optional. It s Not Instant. It s Not Individual.

2 What Is Our Method for Disciple Making? Know God, Grow Together, Go Serve. What Is Our Message? Jesus Message? John 7:37 38 On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Psalm 118: , 29 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. [25] O Lord, save us; O Lord, grant us success. [26] Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord we bless you. [29] Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. [38] Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." 3 Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, come to me. John 1:1 5, 9, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He was with God in the beginning. Colossians 1:15 20 Christ is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. [16] For by him all (other) things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all (other) things were created by him and for him. [17] He is before all (other) things, and in him all (other) things hold together. [18] And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. [19] For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, [20] and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. [5] The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. [9] The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. [11] He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. [12] Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God [13] children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

4 [14] The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 1 John 2:2 Christ is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." 4. It s to Come, Drink, and Believe. Come to me and drink whoever believes in me John 7:38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." Luke 9:23 Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. Psalm 34:8 (NLT) Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who trust in him!

It s God s Story in Scripture. As the Scripture has said John 20:30 31 Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. [31] But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 5:39 40 You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, [40] yet you refuse to come to me to have life. Hebrews 1:1 2 (NIV) In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, [2] but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! Acts 1:1 2 In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach [2] until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

8 6. It s a Promise of Extreme Fulfillment. Streams of living water will flow from within John 4:13 14 Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, [14] but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 15:4 5, 11 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. [5] "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. [11] I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Romans 8:35 39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? [36] As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." [37] No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. [38] For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, [39] neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
