Sometimes called a digital portfolio It s a Digital Collection of content managed by one person The content can include: Text, such as blogs, articles and captions Attached files like Word and PDF documents Photos, Video, Audio Animation and original graphics May include interactive elements

4 Best Defined by the Purpose An e-portfolio may best be defined by the purpose it serves There are General e-portfolios designed to demonstrate the person s abilities and accomplishments There are more focused e-portfolios for artists, job hunters, and education specific portfolios for students, instructors, and even schools

5 What goes into an e-portfolio? e-portfolios collect a variety of documents and artifacts to communicate: Accomplishments Work in progress Academic histories By creating an e-portfolio, students can share work with anyone they wish quickly, easily, and effectively

6 The Student Portfolio Is used to gallery student work across multiple areas of study, projects and accomplishments Students can reflect on project relationships and their work as a whole over their high school career Can function as a resume in gaining employment or entracne into college

7 Features & Benefits They are media rich including multiple types of files and media E.g., Photos, Original Graphics, Audio, Video, Animation, Text, and Web Pages They are interactive and engage the audience They are expandable, providing an easy way to continue to add work as it s completed They are narrative, allowing students to add their own stories and insights

8 Keys to an Excellent e-portfolio The e-portfolio is more than a collection of artifacts that you ve collected during your high school career The e-portfolio should include student reflections about how their high school experiences have connected or shaped their future plans for after high school Student reflections may be written, recorded, added as video narration, etc.

9 Future Plans Video Requirement The Future Plans e-portfolio component should be video-based This does not mean that you must video yourself giving a talk about your future plans Be creative in the production of your video E.g., You might create a slide show that illustrates your future plans and include a voice-over recorded narration discussing your plans You might choose any number of creative approaches for creating your video component about your future plans

10 Use Acrobat Pro or Prezi The e-portfolio is an electronic file that allows users to navigate through your presentation If you create your e-portfolio in Acrobat Pro, your e-portfolio will be a PDF file If you create your e-portfolio in Prezi, you ll need to download your Prezi presentation You will use present your e-portfolio during your Senior Interview, and you must bring the file with you to the interview

Creating your e-porfolio should not only be a fun process but also a reflective process It is hoped that students will reflect on the experiences they ve had through high school, and attach significance to those particular things that have helped the student in making their plans for the future The e-portfolio process affords students to apply learned skills and an opportunity to design a creative reflection of their high school experience.
