4 Insidious(2010) Directed by: James Wan OMG!! The devil-monster entered Josh's body. What's going to happen next? is the first thing to come in my mind after watching this movie. Believe me this movie is so indulging that you can't stop yourself getting that thought. It s equally terrifying; right form the beginning; Yes, I have never seen such a spine chilling opening sequence ever in any horror movie. The way it is presented: the colour tone, the sound effects etc. really signal that something terrifying is about to come. Unlike other films in this genre, it is very well written and deftly handled. And for a horror admirer like me, this movie satisfied my horror thirst after a long time. I have seen a lot of horror movies and consistently look for some really terrifying horror stuffs, and finally I got this one. It forced me to cover my eyes with hands several times.

5 Though some of its out of the world concepts like "astraltraveller" and "the further" will bother you like "what is this shit?", but once you accept them you are really going to enjoy it. Also there are certain moments in the movie that draw disbelief, like one can really question "how can the lady send anyone into the further?" or "how can voice from the present world reach the further?", but stuffs like these are unavoidable in any horror movie. Even the best movies have them. You will also find some weird stuff like the demon lives in a house, works in a 2 storey office outfitted with antiques, and listens to music. But who knows? Maybe this is the way they live. Overall, Insidious is certainly good, but it can entertain you only if you are ready to live in the alternate reality offered by it.

6 ANALYSIS OF EDITS Whenever you mention a character s name, it s a good practice to mention the actor s name in brackets. For ex the statement: The devil-monster entered Josh s (Patrick Wilson s) body appears better with the original name. It gives the reader a perspective to judge the acting with previous movies of the actor.

7 If you mention some particular aspects of the movie like graphics, colour tone, music etc. to be exceptionally good, you should add the name of person responsible for that. For eg.: If you find graphic effects attractive mention the name of graphics artist. Similarly for music composer. People again can judge the movie by their previous works.

8 In case you use any term specifically used in the movie which the reader possibly couldn t understand, you should give a brief explanation of that term. Otherwise the reader can lose interest in your review For example the statement: How can the lady send anyone into the further? After reading this anyone will naturally want the explanation of the term further, because it isn t obvious to understand. If you don t give that reader will feel lost.

9 Try to construct small sentences. Too large and complex sentences sometimes lead to confusion. The reader may have to read the sentence many times to grasp it. Also try to present your thoughts in multiple paragraphs rather than writing a single chunk of it.

10 Movie reviews ideally should contain much about the quality of the movie and less about the story. It should be able to make your point about the movie clearly so that the reader s thoughts can be guided. Usually people look for reviews before watching the movie. In that case if you present all of the story in front of them their mood may get spoiled.

11 Avoid repetition of words. Use synonyms if needed. Avoid unnecessary punctuations. For ex a statement from the first review: It s equally terrifying; right form the beginning; Yes, I have never seen such a spine chilling opening sequence ever in any horror movie There are unnecessary semicolons. This was changed in the next edit to: Its equally terrifying right form the beginning. Yes, I have never seen such a spine chilling opening sequence ever in any movie.

12 Avoid writing many sentences in first person. Like: I felt like I have seen come in my mind Instead you can write: We feel like You must have seen come in our mind

14 First Attempt: Ride Along(2014) This weekend I watched the movie Ride Along directed by Tim Story. The 100 minutes action comedy movie just kept me laughing all the way. The hilarious comedy script written by Grege Coolidge features Ice Cube as James Payton and Kevin Hart as Ben Barber. This cop-couple gets indulged in a 24 hour patrol of Atlanta city. James is a rock-hard detective. On the other hand Ben is a new recruit to Police Department and willing to become a dedicated and respectful cop. Being boyfriend of James sister, Ben is also curious to get his brother in law s blessings before asking Angela (Tika Sumpter) to marry him.-> (too many names and too much story telling) Tim Story being director of Fantastic Four and Think Like a Man has tried to amalgamate the action and comedy part in this new movie. He also has retained Kevin Hart from Think Like a Man which from my point of view is one of the funniest upcoming Hollywood actor. The dialogues between James and Ben are worth watching. Kevin Hart s efforts in this movie have paid off. Though Ice cube s acting is not up to that expected level. But duo has certainly made an impact on audience. I would suggest you to watch this movie. Two hours of entertainment is assured. (Unnecessary statement)

16 Third Attempt: Funny, But not that Great! (short expressive title) Ride Along directed by Tim Story features Kevin Hart and Ice Cube. Cube as a rock-hard detective and Kevin as a new recruit to Police Department being base of the plot have created the enjoyable match on the screen. Comedy 24 hour patrol of the Atlanta city by these two is the platform on which whole film plays. The script writer Grege Coolidge has certainly constructed the story decently.(names have benn reduced and story is shortened) Tim being director of Fantastic Four and Think like a Man has tried to amalgamate the action and comedy part in this new movie. He has retained Kevin Hart from Think like a Man which from my point of view is one of the funniest upcoming Hollywood actors. His stand up is hilarious and so is Ice Cube's acting and the two of them have great chemistry on screen and all but...it wasn't that Great! There were some parts in movie which made me laugh real hard. Conversations between Kevin and Ice are enjoyable. It had a little twist toward the end but thinking of the premise movies like Twenty one Jump Street or The Heat.but what can I say it was filmed well and the duo provided enough entertainment so the film is worth a watch.(good but somewhat lengthy review)
