8 Placing Calls - Lift the handset and dial the number (or dial the number and lift the handset) - Press the New Call softkey and dial the number Placing, Answering, and Disconnecting Calls Answering Calls - Lift the handset - Press the Answer softkey - Press the line button on which the call is ringing Disconnecting Calls - Hang up the headset (or press the hook switch) - Press the End Call softkey - If on speaker, press the Speaker button IMPORTANT - Remember to dial 9 first to open an outside line - All local calls must begin with

9 Using Softkeys When Not in a Call (On-Hook) Redial Softkey Redials the last call placed New Call Softkey Gives a dial tone through the speaker; can pick up the handset to go off speaker CFwdAll Softkey Forwards all calls to a different number Press CFwdAll, then dial the number to forward calls to The screen will display the number entered if Call Forwarding is enabled, and flashing arrow will display next to the forwarded extension To disable Call Forwarding: press the CFwdAll button again NOTE: Make sure to follow the same format as dialing a phone number when attempting to Call Forward (5-digit campus, 10-digit local)

10 Using Softkeys When in a Call (Off-Hook) Hold Softkey Places call on hold. The held call will flash and a pause symbol will appear next to the extension with the held call Resume Softkey Resumes a held call Answer Softkey Answers a second call while already in an active call (a.k.a. Call Waiting) This places the first call on hold To navigate between multiple calls, use the navigation keys to highlight a call then press the Resume key

11 Using Softkeys When in a Call (Off-Hook) Transfer Softkey Transfers a phone call to another number Transfer a call to another phone Press the Transfer softkey (places the call in Hold status) Dial the number to transfer the call to The transfer can be announced (informing the person receiving the transfer of the call) before the transfer occurs Press the Transfer softkey to transfer the call or press the End Call Softkey to cancel the transfer and resume the original call Transfer a call to voic Press the Transfer softkey Press the Messages button on the phone Press the Pound key (#) Dial the extension of the person s voic Press Pound (#), then 2 When voic answers, press the Transfer softkey to complete the call

12 Using Softkeys When in a Call (Off-Hook) Park Softkey Enables a call to be parked on a randomlyassigned number and be picked up on any IP phone (must be on a call in order to see the Park softkey) To use the Park feature While on a call, press the More softkey, then press the Park softkey The screen will display a prompt: Call Park At. The number will display for a few seconds to give time to write it down Go to any IP phone, then dial the Park number to retrieve the call A parked call that is not retrieved within a few minutes will ring back on the phone that parked the call Call Park numbers are randomly assigned between and 31725

13 Using Softkeys When in a Call: Creating a MeetMe Conference MeetMe softkey Can be used to have an internal conference call with up to 10 total people (only works within ACC) To create a MeetMe Conference Pick up the handset Press the More softkey Press the MeetMe softkey (the phone will beep twice) Dial one of the MeetMe numbers ( ). If you hear a fast busy signal, hang up and try a different MeetMe number Once a number has been found, send the meeting number to all joining parties (MeetMe Conferences are joinable by dialing the MeetMe number)

14 Using Softkeys When in a Call: Creating a Conference Call Conference softkey Creates a conference call for up to 6 people To create a Conference Call Press the More softkey Press the Confrn softkey (places the original call on Hold) Dial the number or extension of the person to add to the conference Once the person answers, press the Confrn softkey To Conference will display on the screen Repeat the steps to add more people Only the initiator of the Conference Call can invite people If one person is still in the Conference Call, the call will remain connected To view the names and/or phone numbers of the Conference Call attendees, press the More softkey, then press the ConfLi softkey

15 Using the Feature Buttons: Messages Initial Setup Contact the Help Desk to get an account created Default password: Setting up Voic Press the Messages button (or dial on campus or off campus) Enter the password, then press Pound (#) Follow the prompts to record a spoken name and greeting Access voic from a different phone on campus Press Messages, then press Star (*) Enter the 5-digit extension to check, then press Pound (#) Enter the password, then press Pound (#) Access voic from off campus Dial Press Star (*), then enter the 5-digit extension, then press Pound (#) Enter the password, then press Pound (#) NOTE: Your User ID is your 5-digit extension. Your PIN is your voic password.

16 Menu Options Using the Feature Buttons: Directories 1) Missed Calls Shows log of all incoming, unanswered calls 2) Received Calls Shows log of all incoming, answered calls 3) Placed Calls Shows log of all outgoing calls 4) Personal Directory Customized address book and fast dials 5) Corporate Directory Listing of all users with an extension When a call is highlighted, press the More softkey, then Details softkey to see more details about the call To access the Personal Directory, contact the Help Desk to request your UserID and PIN

Placing a call from a call record Highlight the call using the navigation keys Pick up the handset (or press the headset or speaker keys) to automatically dial the highlighted number For off campus numbers: Highlight the call using the navigation keys Press the EditDial softkey Place a 9 in the beginning of the number (making sure that 512 is added for local numbers) Use the >> softkey to move to the end of the number, then press Dial or pick up the handset to dial the edited number

Using the Corporate Directory Use the navigation keys to select a search field First Name: Last Name: Number: Enter names by using the 10-key dialing (ex. press the 5-key two times to enter a k ) Highlight the search result with the navigation keys and press the Dial softkey or pick up the handset to dial the number
