Remarks Assessment: + positive - negative not assessed Documentation / marking There are no connection examples for solenoid valves and feedback sensors in the device manual, installation of the electrical connections is easy for experienced users. No precise technical description of the compatible and fitting solenoid valves in the manual. The only information on this is switching current, holding current, no-load voltage and internal resistance of the valves. For example, a list of the fitting solenoid valves would be helpful here. Comment of the manufacturer: A regularly updated database will be available online in the future. - The names of the inputs and outputs of the device and in the manual are not consistent with those of the function blocks in the host system, e.g. first sensor input in the host system is labelled "IN1" at the terminal, however, at the transducer block of the device it is labelled "calib_di_11". The user cannot immediately see which input it is. Furthermore, the FF functionality is poorly documented in the manual. Comment of the manufacturer: These names will be used more consistently in the future. Installation / maintenance: + The status LEDs of the bus communication are very helpful for users. A green LED lights up during active communication and switches off when there is no communication, which is indicated by a red LED. - The function of the "PWR" LED is unclear, the LED already lights up when the field bus is connected. Comment of the manufacturer: The LED indication has been changed to BUS PWR since January The status indicators of the I/O box correspond to NE 44. Operation / communication: - The DEVICE ID of the device does not contain the serial number of the device. Mechanical feedback contacts are only possible without line monitoring of the sensor inputs as otherwise open wiring or short circuit will be diagnosed depending on the switching state. The certification of the device is limited to the device type "BASIC" even though the device also supports "LINKMASTER". EMC: - Individual device failures during the ESD partial test within the framework of Namur recommendation NE21 results in the NE 21 not being adhered to. Other: Selecting a wrong solenoid valve results in faulty switching behaviour. If the internal resistance of the solenoid valve is too low, the IO box lacks the switching capacity in order to actuate the valve. If the internal resistance of the solenoid valve is too high, the open-circuit voltage of the output channel alone will suffice to keep the valve actuated.
