The VWT provides free fall training in an economic way, ensuring an average of 95% saving when compared to the cost of a plane for each training mission. The tunnel allows for continuous training under all weather conditions, be it rain, snow or storm, by keeping a constant air temperature in the tunnel. All training sessions are recorded, allowing trainees to see their recent status after trainings. The Facility is now in the use of the Turkish Special Forces. Strategic Level Command Control and Information System (CCIS) CCIS is a strategic-level Command & Control Information System that is based on open software architecture to allow future extensions. 7 50 TEI - TUSAS ENGINE INDUSTRIES, INC. Tusaş Engine Industries, Inc. (TEI) was established in 1985 as a joint venture between the Turkish partners and General Electric (US). TEI s Turkish partners are TAI-Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc., the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation and the Turkish Aeronautical Association. Located in Eskisehir, Turkey, TEI uniquely combines manufacturing, assembly and test facilities under the same roof in facilities measuring 54,000 m2 on a site measuring 508,000 m2. Today, TEI participates in international projects with leading companies in the aerospace sector, utilising its state of art manufacturing, service and design structure and dedicated work force. TEI is a worldwide producer of exceptionally high quality products and technical support services, and operates a highly qualified design centre for the aerospace sector. 8 51 completed at the end of Utilising its engine assembly and test capabilities TEI has assembled and tested 271 F110 engines within the scope of Peace Onyx-I and Peace Onyx-II Projects, while the assembly and test of 42 F110 engines within the scope of Peace Onyx IV Project was TEI has utilised its high technology capabilities in many international projects in the field of engine maintenance, repair and overhaul, working on F110 engines of F-16 aircraft, Makila 1A1 Engines of Cougar helicopters, TF33 engines of NATO AWACS aircraft and CT7 engines on CN235 Casa aircraft. In order to meet its customers expectations, TEI has been rendering technical support for advanced military and commercial aircraft, and helicopter engines, such as the F110, J79, J85, T700 and CT7 engines in the inventory of the Turkish Air Force with on-site experienced professional technical representatives. These services have also expanded to other countries in the region for commercial engines. TEI has the design capabilities required to develop aircraft engines, and is participating in projects with worldwide engine manufacturers. TEI has joined the A400M TP400 engine project as a risk and revenue partner, and secured a place in the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F136 engine project in the system development phase. TEI has also been working on the design and development of several UAV engines for national programmes under native platform-native engine models. 13 56 TUBITAK-SAGE The Scientific & Technological Research Council of Turkey Defence Industries Research and Development Institute SAGE was established in 1972, and is active in three locations the METU Guidance Control Laboratory, the Ankara Subsonic Wind Tunnel and the Lalahan Site. The Institute is a part of TUBITAK the Scientific & Technological Research Council of Turkey, and specialises in the field of defence. 17 60 YONCA-ONUK J.V. Yonca-Onuk JV is the designer and builder of ONUK MRTP Advanced composite fast patrol boats. The shipyard, established in 1986, is located in Tuzla, Istanbul, and has a 12,500 m 2 covered area and air-conditioned composite production shops. Yonca-Onuk has the capacity to build high-speed boats up to 50m in length and 300 tonnes displacement out of advanced composites. Production methods are in full compliance with the AQAP 2120 NATO Quality Assurance System, with engineering and production conforming to Det Norske Veritas (DNV) HSLC classification rules. To date, Yonca-Onuk JV has built and delivered more than 80 Fast Patrol/Attack boat to various customers in Turkey and around the world. Launching the ONUK MRTP Programme in 1997 with the Kaan15 class ONUK MRTP15s of the Turkish Coast Guard, Yonca-Onuk is today building the ONUK MRTP16 (17.75m, 70 knots), the ONUK MRTP20 (22.55m, 56knots), the ONUK MRTP20/U (Water-jet propulsion version), the ONUK MRTP22/U (24.08m, 53knots), the ONUK MRTP29 (31.65m, 47 knots) and the ONUK MRTP33 (35.65m, 42 knots) for both Turkish and foreign customers. In 2009 Yonca-Onuk JV was awarded with a contract to supply 34 ONUK MRTP16 (17.75m, 65 knots) Fast Intervention Craft to the Critical National Infrastructure Authority of the UAE. Of the total number of platforms, 12 are to be built at the Yonca-Onuk facilities in Turkey, while the remaining 22 are to be built by Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) of the UAE.

18 61 Besides the recent contract with the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) to supply 17 ONUK MRTP20s to the Turkish Coast Guard, the Yonca-Onuk JV will supply six ONUK MRTP20 Improved Fast Intervention Craft to the Egyptian Navy, three of which will be built in the Yonca-Onuk Facilities in Turkey, and three to be built in the Alexandria Shipyard in Egypt with the full assistance of Yonca-Onuk JV. Yonca-Onuk JV designed, built and delivered two ONUK MRTP22/U to the Turkish Navy, as well as nine ONUK MRTP29 and 13 ONUK MRTP33s to the Turkish Coast Guard, two missile-capable ONUK MRTP33 Craft to the Pakistan Navy, and one ONUK MRTP33 to the Border Police of Georgia. Our Association was founded in 1990 by 12 leading defence companies with the support of Turkish Ministry of Defence. Today we have 120 members and associate members.
