25 IB Americas update Applications for candidacy continue their consistent growth includes over two dozen IBCC applications received in 2013 The Regional Development team Identifing key districts for introducing or growing programme numbers meeting with government and school officials from those target areas. Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Education Secretariat for Jesuit schools strengthening the partnership between two educational leaders. IB Conference of the Americas, July 2014 in Washington DC, USA expected to attract around 1500 participants. Page 24

Work continues on the Ecuador initiative Aim to bring 500 state sponsored public schools into the Diploma Programme community Initiative is in its second of four years and has over 250 schools in the authorization process In December 2013, IBA hosted a Government Task Force with high-ranking members of state and provincial governments to discuss strengthening the bond between IB and local authorities. In Chicago 3500 students in 15 public high schools benefit from IB education Hosted six orientation seminars from October - January, including one at Brown University in January that attracted 90 educators from New England, which is a target market for the IB. To provide more IB-ready educators: Recognized 6 new universities to offer IB Educator and Leadership Certificates increasing the total to 27 universities globally. Created a directory to showcase all IB educator certificate universities. Page 30

34 Recognition IB World Student Conferences (WSC) bring together IB Diploma Programme students from around the world to explore and experience what it means to be globally engaged, and to inspire responsible action for making a better and more peaceful world. An IB WSC offers important opportunities for developing student leadership, developing professional understanding, and creating highvalue relationships among IB students, World Schools, and universities.
