4 Housing Services SHIP (Seniors Housing Information) This is a free service that provides information on housing options as well as information and referrals to community resources. Financial information GIS (Guaranteed Income Supplement) Income supplement for low-income seniors who are receiving an OAS pension and meet the GIS income requirements (604) BC Housing Tenants eligible for BC Housing subsidized housing pay 30 percent of gross household income for rent. Low-income seniors must pay minimum amount. Contact nearest housing office to apply. OAS (Old Age Security) A federal pension for eligible Canadian Citizens or permanents residents age 65+ who have lived in Canada after age 18.
