1 Installation Guide v.1.5 ADSL Wireless N Router 1 FRONT PANEL AND SIDE PANEL WIFI BUTTON PWR Green Power on LAN 1,2,3 Green On: LAN link connected Blinking: Data transmitting/receiving via LAN port Off: No LAN link LAN 4 Green WAN link connected and active via LAN port WLAN Green On: Wireless ready and idle Blinking: Data transmitting/receiving over WLAN Off: Wireless function is off DSL INET Green Solid green Flickering On: DSL link connected Quick blinking: DSL is trying to connect Slow blinking: No DSL link IP connected Data transmitting/receiving via the Internet To enable or disable your wireless network, press the WiFi button on the side panel. 2 3 CONNECT ROUTER TO THE INTERNET a. Connect the Router to your broadband internet connection. i. To connect via ADSL, see 3.1 ii. To connect via Ethernet, see 3.2 iii. To connect 3G USB Modem, see 7. b. Connect power adapter to the Router s power connector, then plug it into the power wall outlet. c. Start Router by pressing the On/Off button. Check LED is on (green) and indicating power is supplied to the Router. Starting the Router takes ca 30 seconds. 3.1 CONNECT TO THE ADSL BROADBAND SERVICE a. Use an ADSL splitter with built-in micro filter when there is a single wall outlet which must provide connectivity for both the Router and telephone. If phone and Router is using the same phone wall outlet, connect the Router as shown in picture (2). i. Line: Plug line cable in the phone wall outlet. ii. Modem: Plug line cable to the Router. iii. Phone: Plug telephone line to the PHONE port of the splitter. b. When using phone and Router in separate wall outlets, place the splitter in between telephone and phone outlet, and then connect the Router straight into the wall outlet. c. If not using telephone, the splitter is not needed. d. Operators VPI and VCI identifiers are preconfigured in the Router. The Router will auto connect to your operator. Establishing a connection takes ca 1-2 minutes (LED is blinking). e. Check LED is on and indicating connection. If LED is not on, see further instructions (6). f. When INET is on, the Router is connected to the Internet. 3.2 CONNECT TO THE ETHERNET BROADBAND SERVICE To connect the Router to your Ethernet connection, use the WAN port (default setting). a. Plug network cable to the Router s WAN port (marked red) and to the Ethernet wall outlet (RJ-45). b. The Router will auto connect to the Ethernet. Check LED is on and indicating connection. c. When INET LED is briefly on, the Router is connected to the Internet. You can also connect the Router via WAN port to your DSL Modem or Cable Modem, and use it as a wireless router.

3 3.3 CONNECT PC TO THE ROUTER a. Plug network cable to the Ethernet port of your PC (RJ-45), and then to the LAN port of the Router. b. Start the computer. Check LED is green and indicating PC connected. 4 WIRELESS NETWORK (WiFi) The wireless LAN and wireless security are preconfigured in the Router. Check LED is green to indicate that wireless function is on, and the network is ready for use. If needed, press the WiFi button. WPA2-PSK encryption is set by default. Wireless network name (SSID) and password are printed at the bottom of the Router. If you wish to change the network name and password first log on to the user interface (5), and then configure new security settings as shown below. a. Open Wireless menu, and select Basic. b. Set your SSID. c. Click Apply/Save. d. Open Security menu. Use WPA2-PSK if supported by your PC adapter. Set your network key in WPA Pre-Shared Key. Otherwise use WEP (Shared). Then set your network key in Network Key 1. e. Click Apply/Save. f. Change wireless network Channel (optional) in the Advanced menu. g. Click Apply/Save. 5 LOGON USER INTERFACE a. Launch your web browser, and then use log on to the user interface. b. Enter user name admin and password adslroot. Click OK. If you wish to change the Router s password, set new password in Management Access Control Passwords.

4 6 OPERATORS ADSL SETTINGS If INET is not on after DSL connected, check the VPI/VCI identifiers from your operator. If needed, configure new VPI/VCI identifiers in the Router as shown below. Log on to the user interface (5). a. Open Advanced Setup menu, and select Layer2 Interface. Click ATM Interface. Click Add. b. Configure VPI and VCI identifier, then click Apply/Save.

5 c. Select WAN Service, and then click Add. d. Select the configuration. (Example is showing VPI as 0 and VCI as 35.) Click Next. e. Select IP over Ethernet, and then click Next. f. Check Enable NAT, Enable Firewall, Enable IGMP Multicast, and click Next.

6 g. Click on the right side menu information, and then move the information to the left side menu by clicking the arrow button pointing to the left. Click Next. A new window will open. h. In the same way, move the information in DNS Server Configuration to the left side menu. Click Next. i. Click Apply/Save.

7 7 CONNECT 3G USB-MODEM TO THE ROUTER If Router s DSL Port or WAN Port is connected, unplug the cable. Note! Undo request for PIN on your SIM Card. Connect USB Modem to the Router s USB Port. Log on to the user interface (5). a. Open Advanced Setup menu and select Layer2 Interface and 3G Interface. b. Select in USB 3G Modem menu the type of your modem. c. Set operator specific User Name, Password and APN. d. Click Apply/Save. e. Reboot the Router.

8 8 PRINTER SERVER INSTALLATIONS Connect printer cable to the Router s USB Port. Log on to the user interface (5). a. Click Advanced Setup Print Server and then check Enable. Type the printer name (and Make and model). b. Click Apply/Save. c. In the Windows menu, click Control Panel Printers and Faxes Add a printer. d. Select Network Printer and type in URL: ( printer must be the same printer name as set previously). Click Next.

9 9 STORAGE SERVICE Connect USB storage device to the Router s USB port. Log on to the user interface (5). a. Open Advanced Setup menu and select Storage Service. In table you can see the storage device information. b. Select User Accounts. Click Add. c. Enter your user name and password. Please, don t use admin or support as user name. Type in volumename field the same name as Volumename in Storage Service. d. Click Apply. A new window will open.

10 e. In Samba server check Enable Samba server. Click Apply. f. In the Windows menu click Start Run. In Open use \\ Click OK. g. Type your user name and password in the login interface. h. You will now access the USB storage device. The folder name is user name. 10 RESET BUTTON AND FACTORY DEFAULTS On the side panel, you will find a small hole (Reset), which is actually the reset switch. a. Switch the Router OFF. b. Insert the tip of a ball-point into the hole, and press lightly. c. Switch the Router ON while still pressing the ball-point tip. d. Release the ball-point after ca 5 seconds. e.
