1 Weddings At New Hope Church Weddings are incredibly special, and we are honored that you are thinking of making us a part of yours. Below you will find useful information to help your wedding planning process flow more smoothly, including 1) New Hope Church Wedding Policies; 2) Types of Weddings and List of charges; and 3) Wedding Application/Policy Agreement If you are interested in having a wedding at New Hope Church, please carefully read the following material first. If you still have questions please send an to mail@newhopechurch.tv or call the church office at Your Wedding Application/Policy Agreement and deposit must be received at our office to reserve your date. Section 1: New Hope Church Wedding Policies (last updated February 2015, effective on the day you submit your application for your wedding) 1. Only members and regular attenders (6 months +) of New Hope Church can use the building/grounds at New Hope Church for weddings. Weddings officiated by New Hope Church can be held at the 288 in Manvel, the East in Friendswood, the in or off-site at a location of your choice and officiated by a New Hope pastor. 2. All wedding applicants must complete premarital counseling. Options are available by contacting the church office. Pastors reserve the right to refuse to wed any couple who has not completed acceptable premarital counseling. Also note that if this is a second (or consecutive) marriage for either the bride or groom, that individual s divorce must be final for at least one year prior to the wedding date to be married by a New Hope pastor. 3. All Wedding Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The earlier you submit your request, the better your chances of obtaining your desired date and time. We require a deposit to hold the date on all weddings; if you need to cancel or change the date, you may do so up until 14 days prior to the wedding. If you change or cancel the wedding within 14 days of your scheduled date, you forfeit your deposit. 4. The available times for weddings are limited at each campus based on the facility schedule. Since there are Saturday night worship services at the 288, the open times for Platinum and Diamond weddings are as follows: Fridays (late afternoon and evening), Saturday mornings (exiting the building by noon), and Sunday afternoons (1pm and later). Sunset weddings (on Prayer Mountain) can be held as late as 2pm on a Saturday or as early as 1pm on a Sunday; any other day/time of the week is open for Sunset weddings, pending availability of the grounds. Gold and Silver weddings can be performed at other times, depending on the availability of the officiating pastor. Weddings at East and will be scheduled around service times at that campus. 5. The Wedding Application may be submitted up to 12 months in advance. The earlier you submit your request, the better your chances of obtaining your desired date and time. We require a deposit to hold the date on all weddings; if you need to cancel or change the date, you may do so up until 14 days prior to the wedding. If you change or cancel the wedding within 14 days of your scheduled date, you forfeit your deposit. 6. When the church receives your Wedding Application/Policy Agreement and deposit, your date will be entered onto the church calendar. It is advisable that you do not make commitments to caterers, florist, and airlines, etc. until your date and time is verified by the church office and you have turned in your deposit check and Wedding Application/Policy Agreement The Wedding Application can be submitted online and paid with a credit card for your convenience.
2 7. Your request for a particular pastor to officiate will be taken into consideration; however, we cannot guarantee that the pastor you have requested will officiate your ceremony. Please note: Pastor Tim does not officiate weddings. 8. You should see that the appropriate individuals who will be participating in your wedding (i.e., florist, photographer, wedding party, etc.) understand our church s policies where they may be affected. Items #9-11 are in reference to Diamond and Premier Diamond weddings: 9. Regarding rehearsal for Diamond weddings, one hour will be allotted for wedding rehearsal to allow for the scheduling of the church facilities and personnel. Have your wedding party arrive promptly at the scheduled time in order to have adequate rehearsal time. All members of the immediate wedding party (bridesmaids, groomsmen, ushers, flower girl, ring bearer etc.) should attend the rehearsal, if possible. 10. Regarding decorations for Diamond weddings: Decorations for the wedding may be set up before/during the rehearsal as long as it does not affect the rehearsal. (Some early decorating is possible, but arrangements must be made through the church office.) Decorations may also be set up 2 hours prior to the wedding ceremony. (The building will be opened 2 hours prior to the scheduled start time of a Diamond wedding.) Please have florist or predetermined wedding guests begin taking down decorations in the immediately after the wedding. The building must be restored to original condition before departure from the building. 11. Regarding the allotted time for Diamond weddings: Building will remain open for 1 hour and 30 minutes after scheduled start time of wedding for Diamond weddings (having off-campus receptions.) Building will remain open for 3 hours after scheduled start time of wedding for Premier Diamond weddings (with reception in the church café area.) 12. The church building is not available for rehearsal dinners. 13. New Hope Church cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen property. 14. We have no means for storing wedding decorations for later pick-up. 15. The building must be restored to its original condition before departure from the building. Designate someone to begin cleaning up prior to your scheduled departure time. Upon request, a clean-up checklist is available for your information and to help those you designate to clean up. 16. Smoking is not allowed within the church and use of alcoholic beverage is prohibited on church property. 17. For weddings that have more than 100 attenders, we require a police officer to be on campus. This is included in your fee for rental of the building and we will obtain an officer who is familiar with working at our facility. 17. Use of rice or bird seed is prohibited. 18. The wedding policy and fees are subject to change at any time; it is the responsibility of the bride and groom to make certain they know the policies in effect for their wedding. Call the church office if you have questions.

Your deposit is paid in addition to the fee, is refundable pending no reason not to refund (see below) and must be submitted with your signed Wedding Application/Policy Agreement to get your date on the church calendar. The only exception is a Silver wedding in which the deposit amount of $100 can be paid to hold the date and also be applied to the total fee. There is no refund to a Silver wedding since it is held off site. *For Silver weddings, travel expenses may be required. **For Sunset weddings on Prayer Mountain, please note: Prayer Mountain access subject to weather conditions prior to and on the day of the wedding! Wedding may be held outside building in common area, or in lobby, if weather or conditions do not permit use of Prayer Mountain. Because of the ground conditions at the top of Prayer Mountain, no seating will be provided by the church. Prayer Mountain is limited to foot traffic only. No vehicles. ^Platinum wedding includes officiating pastor and audio technician. Building is open 30 minutes prior to scheduled wedding start time, and closed one hour after scheduled start time.
4 ^^Diamond and Premier Diamond weddings include officiating pastor at rehearsal and ceremony, pastor s assistant, audio/visual technician(s), bride s room, groom s room. Premier Diamond weddings include your reception in the church café area. Building is opened 2 hours prior to scheduled wedding start time. Decorations can be set up earlier in the week, depending on church availability. Building will remain open for 1 hour and 30 minutes after scheduled start time of wedding for those having off-campus receptions. For Premier Diamond weddings, building will remain open for 3 hours after scheduled start time of wedding. Payment: All checks should be made out to New Hope Church with bride s last name and groom s last name preceding wedding (i.e. Jones/Smith wedding) in the memo section. (A separate check should be made out for the deposit and turned in with signed Wedding Application/Policy Agreement to get your wedding date on the church calendar.) Wedding deposits and payments can be made online by credit card. See the wedding website for the link. Your deposit is refundable and is required prior to booking any wedding on the church calendar. The deposit is not refundable for the following reasons: a) The Bride and Groom request a different date or cancel the wedding within 14 days of the date that was requested and held; b) The wedding party, guests, and post-wedding clean up team does not leave the building on time; c) Equipment, rental items, and decorations are not removed by the end of the contracted time; d) The building or grounds is damaged; e) The church building is not left clean; f) Alcohol is brought onto the church premises. Any damages exceeding the deposit amount are the responsibility of the bride and groom.
