3 DIGITAL PRINTING: Automated RP Prints The Kodak RP30 printer is a laser exposing device which outputs digital files to Kodak Endura, a conventional photographic paper. It is similar to the Lambda, but in addition it will cut your prints to size. In preparing your files for output on this machine, you do not necessarily need to size them or have them at the specific dpi, however they do need to be cropped, at the correct ratio and sized approximately to file size see below for these details. Simply create folders for each of the sizes you require, and drag your files into the appropriate folder. Make sure your file names have no more than 30 characters. We will apply our output profile before printing and your prints will come back with the file name printed on the back. The following services are available from the RP: Digi-Proofs from scans or digital files (service time1-2 days) Digi-proofs are available from scans or digital files from CD. There is a minimum requirement of 36 files for digi proofs. They are available as full frame, white border or black edge. 5 Digital printing: Lambda Prints The Lambda is a laser exposing device outputting on to conventional photographic paper. It will expose at either 200dpi or 400dpi. We recommend 200dpi for most applications, only using 400dpi if fine type or details are required. We use ICC Profiles on Kodak Endura Lustre and Metallic paper. All files for the Lambda need to be sized correctly and prepared as follows: File Preparation for Lambda Output JPG level 10 is recommended for Edge Express TIF or JPG, not PSD (when saving as TIF, please do not use any compression) 200dpi or 400dpi Do not use these characters in the file name: ^ &=><?(){}[] Lambda Reprints & Art Paper Inkjet (service time 1-2 days) Lambda prints are available on Lustre and Metallic paper. Metallic is printed on Wednesdays and Fridays. Art Paper options are: Canson Rag Photographique, Canson Aquarelle Rag and Canson BFK Rives. Note that Art Paper pricing in Edge Express is incorrect. 6 Digital Retouching (service time 4 days) A range of digital retouching services are available. If your order does not fall in to the following categories, please phone for a quote. There is a minimum order requirement of $5.00. For orders that don t meet this amount, there will be a $2.00 handling fee. Calibration & Colour Space The following information assists in setting up your files correctly so that what you see on your monitor is what you get back from The Edge. We work in Adobe RGB (1998) colour space as it is a larger colour space than a srgb and, we feel, more suited for professional wedding and portrait photographers. We recommend the following: Capture in Adobe RGB (1998) Screen for PC: Temp 6500k Screen for Mac: Temp 6500k Work in Adobe RGB (1998) Gamma 2.2 Gamma 2.2 If your camera does not have the facility to capture in Adobe RGB, we suggest that you convert your files in Photoshop to Adobe RGB or to simply send your files in as srgb files. This also applies if you prefer to work in srgb. It is also important to calibrate your screen to ensure that what you are seeing is the same as the prints you are getting back. We strongly recommend using a colourimeter, commonly known as a Spyder, for your monitor at least once a month. Combining this and the guidelines set out in our calibration kit, will ensure accurate results in printing. Please contact us for your complimentary calibration kit. LaminatinG (service time 5-7 days) Laminating is available in Satin, Matt or Gloss. File Preparation for The Edge Digital Press JPG files prepared at either 300 or 400 dpi. Numbering of files to be 01,02,03,04, etc. and not 1,2,3,4. Hard Photo Covers need to be prepared with an extra 1 all around plus approximately 1/2 for the spine. For example an 11x14 portrait orientation book will have the cover image prepared to 24.5 x 16 but only 23 x14.5 will be visible as the rest will wrap around inside. Therefore do not have type or anything important close to the edges. A Dust Jacket for the same size book would be 31 x14.5 which has 4 wrap around at each end.

Payment needs to accompany the order when it arrives. We accept cash, cheque, Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard, American Express, and Diners. There is a minimum order requirement of $5.00. For orders that don t meet this amount, there will be a $2.00 handling fee. The Edge offers shipping Australia wide: Australia Post (Standard Shipping) or StarTrack (ASAP Shipping). Standard Shipping is free for print orders over $100 and is $10 for orders under $100 (not including mounted and oversized items). ASAP Shipping is available for $18 for packages up to 3kg (cubed) or $24 for packages up to 5kg (cubed). Packages over this size may incur additional charges such as; mounting, stretched canvas, acrylic mounts and some of the larger White House Albums. Please contact us for a quote on these larger items. ASAP Shipping to PO Boxes will incur an additional charge of $9.50. Shipping to remote areas such as WA, NT, QLD and some areas of NSW may incur additional charges. Please contact us if you live in one of these areas.
