The Gulf of Trieste is an authentic training field for sailors where the strongest skippers of the world race. This is the very theatre of the Barcolana, the most crowded sailing event in the Mediterranean Sea, which takes place in mid-october during a nautical season that here is much longer than elsewhere. Do not miss the Gulf, starting from its mooring places. Modern boatyard, now under extension, covering a surface of 42,000 square metres approximately, with two hangars arranged both for hosting a number of productive activities (mechanics, sail loft, boat upholstery, carpentry, joinery, construction, restoration and repair of boats of wood and other composite materials) and for storing boats. The boatyard is equipped with five floating pontoons with 184 mooring places all provided with water and electric power supply (seabed depth 2.20 to 6 m). Furthermore, the office building was completed in 2009 and now provides an additional number of services: coffee bar, restaurant and new toilets. Its location in the Lisert area of Monfalcone, means the facility is only 1,500 meters from the entry/exit point of the A4 motorway (Monfalcone Porto), 5 minutes from the railway station and 15 minutes from the Ronchi dei Legionari airport. You may reach it from the sea by taking the canal from the mouth of the Timavo river before the small port of Duino, then following the route delimited by mooring posts until its end where you ll turn left (East-West arm of the Lisert canal). Marina Lepanto in Monfalcone (GO) is a pole of excellence for tourist landing in the upper Adriatic Sea, easy to reach both from Italian towns and from towns of bordering countries (Austria, Germany, Slovenia): indeed, it is only 5 km from the Ronchi dei Legionari airport and 1,500 m from the entry/ exit point Monfalcone Est - Lisert - Monfalcone Porto of the A4 motorway connecting Venice to Trieste, Trieste direction. The marina, covering an overall surface of 70,000 sq m, provides 230 mooring places for boats up to 22 meters long, arranged with 6 floating pontoons with side mooring, fingers with fenders and water and electric power supply every two mooring places. The onshore surface provides an area of 15,000 sq m where boats up to 28 m can be stored both in winter and in summer, a warehouse of 2,400 sq m, a showroom of 1,000 sq m, as well as a splendid swimming pool. Once in the bay of Muggia, the port can be recognized on the right side thanks to its ochre coloured mooring docks. The marina entrance, signalled by a red and green light, is 50 m large. The 24-hour surveillance service is always tuned to channel 74 (and 16) and provides assistance during mooring operations. The marina has a total of 522 mooring places available, without any problem of depth, distributed on floating docks with fingers piers and on fixed docks with mooring sinkers. There are 57 moorings for maxi yachts 20 to 60 m long. The fuel filling station is located in the area before the port. A tourist-residential complex including 350 flats with hotel, yacht club, conference centre, gym, restaurant, coffee bar and wine bar, swimming pool, solarium and many shops enriches the port. Marina San Giusto is a safe and comfortable landing place, located in the very heart of Trieste, a few steps from Piazza Unità d Italia. It is open all over the year, operates 24 hours a day and offers a wide range of high-level advanced services. The marina is equipped with 276 mooring places for pleasure boats with overall dimensions 8 to 24 meters and 13 mooring places for pleasure boats and Super Yachts up to 70 meters long provided with water and electricity supply as well as internet wi-fi connection. Moreover, upcoming renovation works will see the addition of one floor to the marina offices to extend ground services and facilities offered to future guests of the marina, which is now sheltered by the new semi-rigid pile dam providing safety and total shelter from waves coming from any direction. The port entrance is signalled by a light sign placed on the dam; access is easier taking the ancient Lanterna lighthouse on the right side and the large building of the maritime terminal on the left side as reference points. Seabed depth inside the basin is comprised between 5 and 14 meters allowing access to deep draft boats as well. The marina is provided with a travel agency in its offices for hotel booking and car rental service. This modern marina, now under extension, originates from one of the oldest recreational boatyards of the area. The marina develops on a 21,000 sq m onshore surface, is equipped with offices, coffee bar, toilets, warehouse for boat storage, 5 floating pontoons providing approximately 200 mooring places, water and electricity supply. To reach the port by boat, you just need to take the canal at the mouth of the Timavo river before the small port of Duino, follow the route delimited by mooring posts (pass by the Villaggio del Pescatore) until the end, then turn left in front of the Burgo paper mill and continue straight on for about 500 m. You can also get there by car taking A4 motorway to Trieste until the Lisert exit point; then turn right and go straight as far as the junction, turn left and pass an overbridge, then turn left again at the roundabout. 6 7

The first ports of Slovenia and Croatia are about ten miles away and are easy to get to. Arriving by car is also easy since the motorway is very close. The airport is less than 5 km away. Furthermore, a landing platform for helicopters is arranged inside the marina. It also offers a holiday village in the green, hosting the Tito Nordio sailing school during the summertime, which since 1966 has arranged full-time college style courses. The current services of Marina Hannibal consist of: a total of 328 mooring places, including 9 moorings for Maxi Yachts up to 40 m; 22 moorings for boats 18 to 24 m; 2 towing basins for 300 to 80-ton travel lifts, towing slipway up to 160 tons, large yards, boatyard with joinery, carpentry and mechanics departments and painting booth; the marina works in partnership with handicraft firms for mechanical engineering and electronics work. Marina Hannibal can also offer complete marina and boatyard services for high quality and large size boats for recreational sailing. Marina Tenuta Primero is a modern facility directly by the sea with 270 mooring places for boats up to 25 m long. The marina is sheltered from the Bora and Scirocco winds and can be reached sailing along a 1-mile shipway, delimited by mooring posts and easily visible from the open sea. It is provided with floating landing stages, a large parking space, yard for winter storage and boat repair service, an 80-ton overhead crane, slipway, onshore assistance and bar. The Grado Golf Club is just in front of the marina. Modern suites welcome visitors all over the year. Porto San Vito, located on the right side of Grado, the so-called island of the sun, and just 10 miles from the Istrian coast, is comfortable for those who wish to visit the Venetian and Friulan lagoons through their canals. The entrance, on the right side of the mouth to enter the Grado lagoon, clearly visible for sailors arriving from the sea or from the Lagoon of Marano, is signalled by mooring posts and safety lights, and has seabed depth in its entrance and wharf of about 3.5 m. The marina is open all year round and provides moorings for 165 boats up to 20 m long. Safe port between Venice and Trieste, it is well connected to motorways and airports of the North of Italy. In a very pleasant green environment and fully equipped with services, it allows tourists to reach the old town in a pleasant 3 minutes walk. Darsena San Marco is a private marina, managed by Adria Ship srl, the exclusive importer of Elan, Impression by Elan, and Orca boats for Italy. It offers moorings for boats with overall dimensions up to 20 m, placed both on floats and on a stony dock, at the entrance of the Canale del Belvedere, indicated by a fixed green light. The seabed depth of the dockyard exceeds 5 m with average sea tide. A 40-ton travel lift, a straddle carrier and a carriage ensure this nautical boatyard can operate fully and carry out all ordinary maintenance work. Guests may benefit from comfortable private car parks and wellsheltered moorings from the Bora wind. The exit mouth to the open sea is only 1,000 m away and the Grado town centre is just a 5 minutes walk away. A nautical store and an upholstery workshop complete the services offered to customers, while independent access and a comfortable parking area allow people to enjoy the specialities of its restaurant with wide terrace and panoramic view on the lagoon. A real celebration of the sea, a show that fills the gulf with a huge number of boats of all sizes, from high-tech boats to small sails. The Autumn Cup, organized by the Società Velica Barcola Grignano, is preceded by an intense week of races involving thousands of sailors, from the very young to great world champions. Sport, sailing folklore and a rich program of shows for an event without equal. Darsena Navigare 2000 is located at the beginning of the Schiusa Island, 100 m from Porto Mandracchio, which is the downtown of Grado. You can get to the dockyard from the fosa canal along the Venetian coast, crossing the Matteotti bridge, or along the canal taking to the island of Barbana if you are coming from the Primero Mouths. The marina has an accommodation capacity of about 120 mooring places for boats 5 to 10 m long with modern wharves provided with water and electricity filling stations. Its current seabed depth with average sea tides is meters. The dockyard is provided with inside and outside parking lot with a capacity of about 50 cars, it has a coffee bar and restaurant in two spacious gazebos as well as toilets and showers with hot water. Near the marina there is also a hotel with B&B accommodation and partnering holiday apartments offering special rates. A free shuttle bus connects the dockyard to the hotel. The Marina di Aquileia tourist port is located in an ideal position in the northern Adriatic Sea, few miles away from Trieste, Venice and the Istrian and Dalmatian coasts. Opened in 1987 on the left bank of the river Natissa, the ancient Roman waterway, it is the ideal landing place to reach when navigating a sailboat or a motorboat in the Adriatic Sea through the lagoon of Grado, experiencing a spectacular and still uncontaminated nature. Situated south of Aquileia, this nautical facility provides about 300 mooring places in a fresh water basin and access is allowed to every type of boat 5 to 18 m long. Wharves and landing stages are lighted and provided with water and electricity. It offers a 200 sq m swimming pool with large solarium and bar/restaurant open all year round. A 50-ton travel-lift and a 3-ton jib crane complete its equipment and allow the towing and launching of boats and Yachts, with the possibility of onshore storage either on the 50,000 sq m yard or in the 4,000 sq m warehouse. Highly qualified staff is available for repair and maintenance work on boats. 8 9

Every mooring place is equipped with drinkable water and electricity. Cantieri Marina San Giorgio offers any kind of service and assistance: launching-towing and mast assembly, also on boats of considerable size; yards covering 30,000 sq m and a 15,000 sq m surface with a 10 m high boat warehouse for boat storage; workshops extending on 2,000 sq m for boat repair and maintenance work; body repair workshop with a 500 sq m heated painting booth; electro-hydraulic and oleo-dynamic systems; warehouse for spare parts and accessories of any type and brand; filling station with diesel oil, petrol and fuel mixture; the large swimming pool, restaurant and coffee bar are open 11 months a year. Once entered in Porto Buso, go up the river Corno-Aussa for about 3 miles and you ll see the dockyard on the left bank. The Marina currently offers 47 mooring places for boats 6 to 16 m long on fixed wharves with mooring posts. The dockyard is sheltered from northeast winds. Seabed depth at mooring places is of 4.5 m. Access coordinates are: lat N - long E. Marina Sant Andrea offers a huge 200,000 sq m area with an accommodation capacity of 700 boats up to 30m long, offshore and onshore, on fixed and floating wharves with mooring posts. Every offshore mooring place is equipped with electricity, water and TV sat plug. The marina has a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, toilets, laundry and many other technical services guaranteed by this new first class boatyard: two 100 and 80-ton travel lifts, truck crane for 45-ton masts, two 70 and 40-ton boat carriers, a 15,000 sq m warehouse for boat storage, a 110,000 sq m yard for outdoor boat storage, a 1,000 sq m heated painting booth, a 2,000 sq m area with workshops for carpentry, joinery, mechanical engineering, electronics, electrical, hydraulic and fibreglass works. To reach the marina from the outer breakwaters of Portobuso follow the Porto Nogaro canal for 3 miles (seabed depth 7 meters) until you get to the confluence between the river Aussa and the river Corno (the first marina on the left). The Marina Stella dockyard is located on the river Stella and its fresh waters - so important for the preservation of boat engines and hulls - can be reached from the Lagoon of Marano. It is quite small, with about 85 mooring places for boats up to 24 m long, and offers a family-style atmosphere, which makes it unique. It is surrounded by sport facilities, regeneration and relax lounge providing the Kneipp therapy and a hydro-massage swimming pool. It also offers itineraries in the countryside and guest rooms. The nearby 800 m long airfield makes it possible to reach the marina on small aircrafts, while the special fish dishes of its restaurant give moments of total relaxation. The Marina Stella boatyard is about two kilometres away, with a 12,000 sq m covered area and a large outdoor yard of about 25,000 sq m. The boatyard is provided with a heated painting and carpentry workshop, equipped with proper vacuum systems. It is therefore possible to carry out every kind of repair and maintenance work on boats of different materials. Its two 35 and 100-ton travel lifts allow easy towing operations on boats of different sizes, also of large size. Marina Capo Nord is the most recent facility of the entire complex of Aprilia Marittima. The marina provides 650 mooring places for boats 10 to 20 metres long with a draught of more than 3 meters. It offers the most exclusive services, both on dock and onshore, all comprised in the mooring rate and including private car park. Free Internet connection for each mooring place is among the most appreciated services. The marina facilities also include large onshore spaces for boat storage and towing, washing and launching services including the so called crane-pass service, which allows you to have your boat stored throughout the year so as to preserve it particularly from winter deterioration, allowing you however at the same time to go out to sea when you wish. It consists of sixteen landing stages with 680 mooring places for boats 7 to 20 metres long, each inclusive of car park. The dockyard is provided with hydro-massage swimming pool, laundry, TV connection for each mooring place. The canal of the Terra Mare Complex is adjacent to the dockyard and connected to it, hosting 200 houses with garden and mooring places for boats 12 to 15 metres long. To reach the dockyard of Aprilia Marittima, enter the port mouth of Lignano, proceed along the Coron canal delimited by poles, then arrive to Aprilia Marittima. The marina hosts a boatyard providing any kind of assistance. Marina Punta Gabbiani is part of the large complex of Aprilia Marittima, located within the splendid Lagoon of Marano. The dockyard offers 300 mooring places for boats 12 to 25 m long and other 300 smaller onshore places arranged as a dry-marina. In 2004 the port obtained the prestigious Jack Nichol Award as the best marina of the year, which proves the high quality of its services and facilities. A comprehensive range of recreational equipment, a very efficient repair workshop, three swimming pools and beautiful well-kept green areas, make Marina Punta Gabbiani a safe place to leave your boat and an ideal place to spend your holidays. Darsena Porto Vecchio is situated within the Lignano town centre. It is provided with about 400 mooring places for boats up to 17 m long and includes various floating pontoons equipped with special fingers. The marina is open 24 hours a day; mooring is easy even though it is not advisable to enter the dockyard in case of strong sirocco wind. Its sandy seabed is 1.8 to 3 meters deep. To reach the dockyard proceed along the access canal for about 1 mile from the green light and then turn left into a canal signalled by two mooring posts and delimited by an artificial cliff on the left and mooring posts on the right. autilia is the nautical show of second-hand boats, N which takes place at the end of October at the Aprilia Marittima boatyards in Latisana. Boats on show are placed ashore: this is the winning move of this second-hand show attracting more than 15,000 visitors and dozens of national and international brokers. In this way buyers can immediately verify the condition of the boats, check their rudders and propellers with no additional costs for towing or other control procedures. The considerable amount of deals concluded in every edition demonstrates this choice turns out to be the right one. It currently offers 1,200 mooring places (for boats 7 to 40 m long), a sandy seabed depth up to 3 m and 20,000 sq m reserved to technical assistance. In the very centre of the marina, a very distinctive island accommodates the sports facilities of the Sporting Club. Customers can also comfortably enjoy the shopping centre including shops and other additional services such as restaurants, American bar, nautical agency, brokers, charter service, clothing and technical equipment shop. Marina Punta Faro is on the furthest strip of land where Lignano Sabbiadoro lies, where waters of the Lagoon of Marano and of the Adriatic Sea meet creating a fascinating contrast of colours. Marina Punta Verde, a peaceful refuge on the left bank of the river Tagliamento, provides the most advanced services and prompt and efficient assistance. A 30,000 sq m stretch of water provides a basin for 270 mooring places for boats 6 to 20 meters long, arranged on floating pontoons equipped with side fingers to ensure easy accessibility and comfortable mooring. Each mooring place is equipped with electricity and drinking water supply. Our specialized staff guarantees surveillance and mooring assistance. Additional services such as toilets and hot showers, weather report service (METEOSAT and NAVTEX), Wi-Fi Internet connection and separate waste collection are available. A 20-ton crane is available for towing and launching operations, and a large warehouse provides boat storage service in winter. A workshop offers all the necessary technical assistance. Boaters can also enjoy the restaurant, bar, mini-market and swimming pool. The Marina Uno Tourist Port is located in Lignano Sabbiadoro, in an area called Riviera, on the mouth of the river Tagliamento, just 400 metres from the sea. Every year since 1990 the marina has been awarded the European Blue Flag for the wide range of services offered to its skippers. It provides 420 mooring places for boats 7 to 20 meters long, equipped with electric power, water, separate waste collection, weather report service, surveillance, car park, boat storage, towing, technical assistance, toilets, showers and swimming pool. Additional services are provided in an elegant green scenery: hotel with swimming pool and beauty centre, nautical clothing shop, restaurants, coffee bar, newsagents and tobacco shop, boat and water cycle rental. The marina offers nautical charter and scuba diving courses. The seabed bottom at the entrance is sandy and 2 to 3 meters deep. The canal access is at the mouth of river Tagliamento, between two breakwaters 400 meters from the coast

It also promotes and supports recreational sailing and develops sailing courses for beginners. It can boast a one-century history; it works as a public body with moral and cultural purposes, as an association for environmental protection and social promotion. It can rely on more than 60,000 members on 80 nautical bases and 250 offices all over the country. Members of the Naval League enjoy free accommodation, for a maximum of three days, in each of the nautical bases operating in the country.
