19 19 Sean Duffy received his Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the University of Chicago, where he explored culture s influence on visual perception. He subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Social Research in Ann Arbor, MI, where he was also associated with the University of Michigan s Department of Social Psychology and the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin. Duffy worked in Japan in collaboration with the psychologists Shinobu Kitayama and Shoji Itakura at Kyoto University. Duffy is currently an assistant professor of psychology at Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey, where he conducts research on environmental psychology, cognitive psychology, and developmental psychology
