1 Tenderfoot Rank Ceremony Emcee: Could we please have PRESENTER and (name of Scouts) earning the Tenderfoot Rank come forward. Presenter: (lights large rank candle) The term Tenderfoot means, an inexperienced beginner. You are indeed an inexperienced beginner who has taken the first steps on the scouting trail by earning the Tenderfoot Rank. The path to Tenderfoot is well worn by the boys who have come before you but it was your effort and enthusiasm that brought you here. You have started to build a foundation of Boy Scout principles. You have learned various skills that will serve you well as you travel on your scouting journey. You have learned some basic first aid, how to tie knots and you have improved your physical fitness. But these skills are only the beginning. As you advance on to other ranks, you will learn more knots, more first aid, how to use a compass, how to cook and many other life skills. The activities you participate in will become more challenging and more rewarding. Please light the candle signifying the Tenderfoot rank and the pursuit of higher goals in scouting. Please accept the Tenderfoot badge. Now is the time to experience the fun and satisfaction of learning new skills and sharing good times with the Scouts. Congratulations on the example you have set and the achievements you have accomplished.

2 Second Class Rank Ceremony Emcee: Could we please have PRESENTER and the following Scouts who have earned the Second Class Rank come forward. (name of Scouts earning Rank) Presenter: (lights large rank candle) You have earned the rank of Second Class Scout. This rank represents the second step in your Scouting experience. You have earned this rank by gaining a better idea of the skills you need in Scouting and your life beyond Scouting. On the Second Class patch and badge the ends of the scroll are turned up to remind you of the willing smile of a scout. Suspended from the middle of the scroll is a square knot to remind you of the Scout slogan, Do a good turn daily. Written on the Scroll is the Scout motto, Be Prepared. As you have been advancing in Scouting you have shown that you understand what these mean and deserve to be acknowledged for that. As you continue to advance the Scout Oath, Motto and Law become even more important. I ask you now lead the Troop in reciting the Scout Law. Will members of the Troop please stand and give the Scout sign. Scouts: A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. Presenter: Thank you. Please light the candle signifying the ideals of the Second Class Rank and the pursuit of higher goals in scouting. Please accept the badge for Second Class Rank. 3 First Class Rank Ceremony Emcee: Could we please have and the following scouts earning the First Class Rank come forward. (name of Scouts earning Rank) Presenter: (lights large rank candle) You have earned the rank of First Class Scout. This rank represents a significant step in your journey in Scouting. You have advanced to First Class by learning many of the outdoor skills of Scouting. In your next steps in Scouting you will start learning the skills that will help you guide others along the path of Scouting. Community service will help in developing your pride and confidence in what you do. Leadership training will help you take on greater responsibility as you grow. As a First Class Scout you have earned the right to demonstrate and abide by the code to which a scout is bound, the Scout Oath and Law. I ask you now lead the Troop in reciting the Scout Oath. Will members of the Troop please stand and give the Scout sign. Scouts: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my Country And to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. 4 Star Rank Ceremony Emcee: Could we please have and the following scouts earning the Star Rank come forward. (name of Scouts earning Rank) Presenter: (lights large rank candle) You are no longer a First Class Scout. Whether or not you realize it, by meeting the Star Scout Requirements you have left the group of those who merely receive Scouting. Tonight you will join a smaller and more significant group those whose duty and privilege it is to give leadership, service, guidance and inspiration to younger scouts who will follow your lead. Are you willing to accept the responsibility as well as the privilege that accompanies the Star Scout Rank? If yes, please say, I do. Scouts: I do Presenter: Thank you. The Star on your new badge will guide you like the stars in the sky and lead you to your next step, that of Life Scout. Please light the candle signifying the ideals of the Star Scout and your promise to give light, service and guidance to those scouts who will come after you. Congratulations on the example you have set and the achievements you have accomplished.

5 Life Rank Ceremony Emcee: Could we please have PRESENTER and (name of Scouts earning Rank) who has earned the Life Rank come forward. Presenter: (lights large rank candle) You have attained the rank of Life Scout. You have done this by showing that your heart has the Spirit of Scouting. As you have advanced in rank you have mastered many skills, shown that you can lead your Troop in service and share with others the scouting experiences you have received. The heart shape on the Life Rank badge is symbolic of life and courage. For you now the Scout Oath and Law will mean more than ever before. The spirit of helpfulness and alertness of mind, and the mastery of those Scout skills that make, Be Prepared really mean something these are the inner qualities of the Scout who wears the Life Scout Badge. In receiving your Life Rank tonight you are approaching your last step toward Eagle. To work toward Eagle you must give service to others and lead others in performing a service project of your choosing. Your willingness to do so will be a pledge of service and a sign of your understanding of the ideals of Scouting. Do you accept the honor and responsibility of service and leadership that accompanies the Life Rank? If yes, say I do. Scouts: I do Presenter: Thank you. 6 Eagle Palm Ceremony Emcee: During the period of this Court of Honor we had one Eagle Scout earn his Silver Eagle Palm. Could we please have and (fill in ) who has earned the Silver Eagle Palm come forward. Presenter: The path in scouting does not end when a young man earns his Eagle Rank. The path continues as the Eagle Scout earns what are called palms. There is a bronze palm, followed by a gold palm and then, finally, a silver palm. To earn each eagle palm an Eagle Scout must remain active in the Troop for 3 months and have earned 5 merit badges over and above the 22 required for the Eagle Rank. Daniel, you have met these requirements and I am pleased to present you with your Silver Palm. Also, the Troop wants to thank you for the service you provided in leading the First Aid Merit Badge clinics and, since your 18 th Birthday is coming up in just a few months, we wish you well in all you will do. Congratulations on the example you have shown and the achievements you have accomplished. Thank you for being a part of Troop 626.
