Strap Cutting Dimensions G10017 Note: If you are installing the Snow Deflector on a 10 V-Blade, use Figure 6. 2) Cut two MSC04061 Metal Straps (3). Use the dimensions in Figure 3 for your plow. Note: If you are mounting the Snow Deflector Kit on a 10 V-Blade, you do NOT need to cut Metal Strap (3). 3) Clamp the two pieces of Belting (1) and four Straps (3) to the plow as shown in Figure 5. The factory cut edges of the Belting must be flush with the outside edges of the plow. Installation Tip: ViseGrips work very well when clamping the straps and belting to the blade. Drilling Procedure G10020 Note: Before you drill, check to make sure the holes are not in line with any of the plow ribs. 4) Using Figure 6 as a guide, drill through Metal Strap (3), Rubber Belting (1) and the top edge of the Blade Half. Use a 3/8 diameter drill. Figure 7. Snow Deflector Assembly Procedure G ) Attach Rubber Belting (1) and Metal Straps (3) to the plow using the included 5/16 Bolts (8), 5/16 Flat Washers (9), and 5/16 Lock Nuts (10). 4

6 Snow Deflector Assembly Instructions for Steel V-Blades Figure 8. Drill and Self Tap Procedure G ) Drill through Modified Strap (3) as shown in Figure 8. Do NOT drill through the blade. All plows including the 10 V should be drilled 1 away from the end of Modified Strap (3). Installation Tip: Drill a pilot hole into the enclosed section for Self-Tapping Screw (4). A pilot hole will help prevent Self- Tapping Screw (4) from shearing. 7) Install Self-Tapping Screw (4) through the hole that that was drilled in Step 6. Self- Tapping Screw (4) should be installed through Metal Strap (3), Rubber Belting (1) and then into the top of the Blade Half. Note: A self-tapping screw is used in Step 7 because of the enclosed section on the Blade. 5

Center Flap Installation G10022 Note: The plow must be in the V Position as shown in Figure 9 for the installation of Center Belting (2). 8) Align and clamp Center Belting (2) as follows: Center the Center Belting to allow an equal amount of overlap on each half of Rubber Belting (1). Position Center Belting (2) so that the 16- inch width is horizontal and the 21-½ inch length is vertical. This is illustrated in Figure 9. Position the front corners of Center Belting (2) flush with the front edge of Rubber Belting (1). 9) With Center Belting (2) clamped in place, drill two 3/8 diameter holes through each side of Center Belting (2) as shown in Figure 9. The holes should be placed at least 1-½ inches away from the edges of the pieces of belting. Figure 10. Center Flap Installation G10023 Note: The plow must be in the straight position before beginning Step 11 and Step ) Fold Center Belting (2) over the top of the plow as shown in Figure ) Using Self-Tapping Screw (4) and Fender Washer (5) attach Center Belting (2) to the top of Center Section (11). Position the screw behind the center hinge pin. The screw should be tapped into the top plate of Center Section (11). 13) Remove any excess material from the lower back of Center Belting (2) so that it does not interfere with the plow. Congratulations, you have successfully installed your Snow Deflector! 10) Attach Center Belting (2) to Rubber Belting (1) using four 1/4 Bolts (6), eight 5/16 Fender Washers (5), and four 1/4 Lock Nuts (7). 6

Use the dimensions specified in Figure 11 for your plow. Figure 12. Strap Cutting Dimensions G ) Cut two MSC04061 Metal Straps (3). Use the dimensions in Figure 12 for the plow you are installing the Snow Deflector on to. 7

9 Snow Deflector Assembly Instructions For Poly V-Blades already drilled in the plow. Also align the hole in Full Length Strap (3) with the outermost hole already drilled in the plow. The factory cut edges of Rubber Belting (1) must be flush with the outside edges of the plow. Installation Tip: ViseGrips work very well when clamping the straps and belting to the blade. Figure 13. Remove Carriage Bolts G ) Remove all carriage bolts that are in the top angle of the plow. The Bolt-on Angle (not shown) will be loose. Discard carriage bolts. Figure 15. Drilling Procedure G ) Using the pre-existing holes in the blade, drill upward through Rubber Belting (1) and Metal Strap (3). Drill through all pre-existing holes in the top angle of the blade. Use a 3/8 diameter drill. Note: Not all plows have the same hole patterns as illustrated in Figure 15. Figure 14. Clamping Orientation G10028 Note: The Bolt-on Angle (not shown) needs to be clamped back into its original position. The Bolton Angle must be in place before drilling. 4) Clamp the Bolt-on Angle, the two pieces of Belting (1), and four Straps (3) to the plow as shown in Figure 14. Align the hole in Modified Strap (3) with the innermost hole 8

Snow Deflector Assembly Procedure Note: Before you drill check to make sure the holes are not in line with any of the plow ribs. 7) Attach Rubber Belting (1), Metal Straps (3), 6) Using Figure 16 as a guide, drill through Strap (3), Rubber Belting (1), Bolt-on Angle (not shown), and the top edge of the Blade Half. Use a 3/8 diameter drill. Note: There should be a total of three holes in the Full Length Metal Strap. There should be a total of two holes in the Modified Metal Strap. G10021 and Bolt-on Angle (not shown) to the plow using the included 5/16 Bolts (8), 5/16 Flat Washers (9), and 5/16 Lock Nuts (10). 9

11 Snow Deflector Assembly Instructions For Poly V-Blades Figure 18. Drill and Self Tap Procedure G ) Drill through Modified Strap (3), Rubber Belting (1), and Bolt-on Angle. Do NOT drill through the blade. All plows should be drilled 1 away from the end of Modified Strap (3). Installation Tip: Drill a pilot hole into the enclosed section for Self-Tapping Screw (4). A pilot hole will help prevent Self- Tapping Screw (4) from shearing. 9) Install Self-Tapping Screw (4) through the hole that that was drilled in Step 8. Self- Tapping Screw (4) should be installed through Modified Strap (3), Rubber Belting (1), Bolt-on Angle (not shown), and then into the top of the Blade Half. Note: A self-tapping screw is used in Step 9 because of the enclosed section on the Blade. 10

Center Flap Installation G10022 Note: The plow must be in the V Position as shown in Figure 19 for the installation of Center Belting (2). 10) Align and clamp Center Belting (2) as follows: Center, left to right, Center Belting (2) to allow an equal amount of overlap on each half of Rubber Belting (1). Position Center Belting (2) so that the 16- inch width is horizontal and the 21-½ inch length is vertical. This is illustrated in Figure 19. Position the front corners of Center Belting (2) flush with the front edge of Rubber Belting (1). 11) With Center Belting (2) clamped in place, drill two 3/8 diameter holes through each side of Center Belting (2) as shown in Figure 19. The holes should be placed at least 1-½ inches away from the edges of the pieces of belting. Figure 20. Center Flap Installation G10023 Note: The plow must be in the straight position before beginning Step 13 and Step ) Fold Center Belting (2) over the top of the plow as shown in Figure ) Using Self-Tapping Screw (6) and Fender Washer (5) attach the Center Belting to the top of Center Section (11). Position the screw behind the center hinge pin. The screw should be tapped into the top plate of Center Section (11). 15) Remove any excess material from the lower back of Center Belting (2) so that it does not interfere with the plow. Congratulations, you have successfully installed your Snow Deflector! 12) Attach Center Belting (2) to Rubber Belting (1) using four 1/4 Bolts (6), eight 5/16 Fender Washers (5), and four 1/4 Lock Nuts (7). 11

Belting Dimensions for all Straight Blades. 1) Cut MSC04058 Belting (1) to match the length of your Straight Blade using the dimensions specified in Figure 21. G10031 Note: If you are installing the Snow Deflector on a 10 Straight Blade, you do not need to cut this piece. 12

14 Snow Deflector Assembly Instructions For All Straight Blade/Trip-Edge Plows Figure 22. Strap Cutting Dimensions. G ) Cut two MSC4061 Metal Straps (3). Use the dimensions specified in Figure 22 for the Straight Blade that you are installing the Snow Deflector on. Note: You do not need to cut this strap if you are installing the Snow Deflector on an 8'6 Super Duty, 9 0 Super Duty, or 10 Straight Blade. Figure 23. Remove Trip Springs. G10033 Note: Step 3 is intended for 7 6 Poly Straight Blade Plows and 8 0 Poly Straight Blade Plows. Removal of the trip springs on all other straight blade plows is NOT necessary. Continue with Step 4 if Step 3 does not pertain to your plow. 3) If you have a 7 6 Poly Straight Blade Plow or an 8 0 Poly Straight Blade Plow you will need to remove the trip springs as shown in Figure

16 Snow Deflector Assembly Instructions For All Straight Blade/Trip-Edge Plows 4) Clamp the four Metal Straps (3) in the orientation shown in Figure 24 to the top edge of the blade. Installation Tip: ViseGrips work very well when clamping the straps and belting to the blade Figure 25. Drilling Procedure. G10038 Note: Before drilling, check to make sure the holes are not in line with any of the plow ribs. 7) Using Figure 25 as a guide, drill through Metal Strap (3), Rubber Belting (1), and the top edge of the Blade. Use a 3/8 diameter drill. Figure 25. Trip Spring Drilling Procedure G10037 Note: Step 5 is intended for 7 6 Poly Straight Blade Plows and 8 0 Poly Straight Blade Plows only. Drilling holes for the trip spring eyebolts on all other straight blade plows is NOT necessary. Continue with Step 7 if Step 5 does not pertain to your plow. 5) Using the pre-existing holes in the blade, drill upward through Rubber Belting (1) and Metal Strap (3). Drill through all pre-existing holes in the blade. 6) Insert the Trip Spring Eyebolts through the holes in the top of the blade, Rubber Belting (1), and Metal Strap (3). Assemble the trip spring eyebolts with the previously removed hardware. Figure 26. Snow Deflector Assembly Procedure G ) Attach Rubber Belting (1) and Metal Straps (3) to the plow using the included 5/16 Bolts (8), 5/16 Flat Washers (9), and 5/16 Lock Nuts (10).
