2 Tube heat exchangers and other pressure vessels ViFlow designs, engineers, produces and markets highly efficient and custom designed heat exchangers, pressure vessels, containers and other production equipment in technically demanding materials such as titanium, aluminium and stainless steel. ViFlow also provides maintenance services for the products. In addition, ViFlow engages in construction, manufacturing and installation of complete piping systems for industrial applications. The companies within ViFlow have a high competence level with in-house construction and thermal engineering. ViFlow today consists of two companies, ÖrnalpUnozon and RAMAB. ViFlow Finland Oy is responsible for the sales in Finland and through the finnish customers our products can be found worldwide. RAMAB RAMAB was founded in 1986, however the competence within the company can be traced back to the 1960s, when Sjöö & Bornekes Mekaniska AB started production of heat exchangers for Alfa-Laval. In 2001 an agreement was reached implying that Alfa Laval referred all tube heat exchanger customers to RAMAB. Today more than heat exchangers have been delivered by the company. RAMAB s modern purpose-build premises are situated in Knislinge, Skåne. The procuction area is about 1100 m2. RAMAB produces tube heat exchangers using a large variety of materials. Most common materials are: CS, AISI 304 ja 316, 254 SMO, AISI 904L and special materials like 13CrMo44, 10CrMo910 ja 16Mo3. Within contract operations, the company offers complete piping systems, from construction to assembly. Customers and market area Örnalp Unozon Back in 1939, Unozon was founded in Örnsköldsvik by Leonard Ekberg. Örnalp was launched in Though a number of corporate acquisitions and fusions Örnalp Unozon is today one of Swedens leading companies in manufacturing of advanced titanium, aluminium and stainless steel equipment, heat exchangers and other pressure vessels. Products made of titan make almost 50% of the companys turnover. The company is especially focused on manufacturing heat exchangers in two materials, for example with titanium lining and carbon steel bottom layer. Örnalp Unozon also manufactures tanks, reactors, evaporators and autoclaves using one or more materials lined or explosed. The production takes place in Örnsköldsvik. Total production area is about 7,200m2. More than a half of RAMAB s and Örnalp Unozon s customers come from the Nordic paper and pulp industry. We also have references in the energy sector, chemical industry, gas production and metal- and mining industry. Beside the Nordic countries we have delivered units for instance to China, Russia and North and South

3 Shell and tube heat exchangers There are many different types of tube heat exchangers. As well as the thermal pre-requisites, operating pressure, operating temperature, operating conditions, type of fluid and cleaning requirements etc. have an effect on how the heat exchanger should be designed. The tube heat exchanger can be designed for single or several passes both on the tube and the shell side. The use of several passes provides a higher flow speed and/or a shorter length. The tubes are welded and/or expanded in one or two tube plates and are supported by a number of baffles. The purpose of the baffles is to control the flow so that optimal speed and turbulence is maintained, and also so that vibrations are avoided in the tube bundle. The temperature difference between the tube and the shell side can lead to the thermal strain. At higher temperature differences, the heat exchanger is often equipped with a compensator, which takes up this tension. The covers of the heat exchanger can be equiped with lifting eyes and/or hinges which allow even large covers to be opened and closed safely. We can equip the heat exchangers with extra connections, special feet constructions ( we also make earthquake analysis). The heat exchanger can also be integrated in pre-built modules which shorten the installation time at the customers premises significantly. We comply with TEMA's recommendations, with regard to mechanical design, and also use TEMA's designations on our machinery.
